[-] NineMileTower@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Reminds me of a Lonely Island lyric:

Dreamgirl you amaze me all dressed in paisley

Love how not one but both eyes are lazy

[-] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 weeks ago

Referring to finding deeper information, from an actual human response. I've always known that pattern as a Paisley, but here's a word I've never heard of hinting different geographic origins.

And the reddit connection? Pretty sure reddit is a bunch of bots or so it seems

[-] And009@reddthat.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Umm... That's where it began

[-] NutWrench@lemmy.ml 86 points 2 weeks ago

Paisley. It was really popular pattern in the late 1960s / early 1970s in curtains and furniture.

It's called paisley. Originated in Persia, but named after a town in Scotland.

[-] 9point6@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

It's paisley

[-] N0x0n@lemmy.ml -5 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I call it "paramecia". But that's just my personal way of calling it, without knowing the real original name !

Good to know though :)
