US cares so much about the region that Biden didn't even show up. Sent Blinken to lecture all the region's heads of state. I'm sure that will go down well.
Nobody cares what US diplomats say anymore. That filthy war criminal was lucky to be allowed into the room at all.
Blinken has an excellent track record of de-escalating conflict and promoting peace and unity. Look at what he's done to the Israeli conflict in the middle east. It's so peaceful right now and everyone is just getting along so well.

Well, the US used to understand that the strategic shift out of West Asia is necessary, in particular since Oil and Gas are now net exported from the US instead of imported. The US used to understand the importwnce of South East Asia and preventing chinese military dominance.
In the same wake it is crucial to defend Ukraine from Russia.
Instead the US will sacrifice both to slaughter more Arabs, while Israel is continuing shady deals with Russia.

China is fucking over the Philippines, hard. They're ramming and boarding their boats, fishing in their waters. We need a naval presence and a message to China that the US views their actions against our ally as piracy and we will sink the next ship fucking around. (I have no idea what's going on with the Vietnamese.)
Beijing is testing what they can get away with, always has, always will. We need to call their bluff, no need to actually open fire. Promise they wouldn't fuck if there was a destroyer group parked in Manila Bay.
Now I'm giggling imaging a Los Angeles-class surfacing as the Chinese navy approaches a Filipino vessel.

So? Selling out our sovereignity and national dignity is a way of life in this region, regardless if it's for a handful of sheckles, renmenbi or dollars. Because standing up to a bully superpower is hard.
Pity our govts don't see things quite the same way.
