He's old. And very, very weird.

[-] demizerone@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago

Homeboy is 80, he's heading out. My mother, whom was overweight like Trump, towards the end of her life could not stay awake. She was constantly exhausted.

[-] myrrh@ttrpg.network 9 points 1 day ago

Don't you think he looks tired?

[-] Showroom7561@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Homeboy is 80, he's heading out.

He's either a healthy 80-year-old, or a sick one in decline.

We all know he's the latter. He just needs to admit it so we can all move along.

[-] Jagothaciv@kbin.earth 154 points 2 days ago

Any day now dude should be flopping over.

If it isn't soon, we may get president Vance...

[-] ikidd@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I hate to say it, but that's likely still better than President Mike Johnson.

[-] cmbabul@lemmy.world 41 points 2 days ago

For real, we’re in a tight spot here, Trump kicking the bucket before the election would probably be the best case scenario as it would no doubt reduce turnout among the GOP base and Kamala would wipe the floor with Vance. I’m terrified he’ll either actually win or otherwise steal the election through the court and then croak. We might get a civil war either way but it would somehow be even worse with Vance at the helm.

[-] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

I'm not sure that Vance would be the presidential candidate if Trump dies in the next couple weeks. All the states have printed their ballots already, haven't they? Trump is the candidate for president, not Vance. A vote for Trump after he is dead would not legally be a vote for Vance. I think Vance only gets the White House if Trump lives long enough to win or Vance wins as a write-in candidate after Trump dies.

[-] cmbabul@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Thats a logistical component I didn’t consider nor do I know what the mechanisms would be, extreme circumstances could lead to all sorts of things, but I also think the GOP would try to keep momentum by rolling with Vance.

[-] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

I agree, republicans would fight tooth and nail for Vance to be their candidate, but the democrats would also fight tooth and nail to void those votes as having not been for Vance. It would be one hell of a knock down drag out in the courts... oh, shit. /gulp/ ...until SCOTUS stepped in. Crap.

[-] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 2 days ago

My ballot has one checkbox for Trump AND Vance. And another checkbox for Harris and Walz.

It would appear to be a vote for a joint ticket, and probably realistically mean a vote for Trump would elect him, then they would inaugurate the little shitstain VP as the president. Since votes would be for both candidates (P & VP).

I like the wishful thinking though.

Ugh... And probably trying to sneak in Musk as VP, despite him not being a natural-born citizen...

[-] bitchkat@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago

Maybe he retroactively get natural born citizen like he did with founder status at Tesla.

Don't.. don't give us hope

[-] meathorse@lemmy.world 51 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I'm calling it now: Putin has abandoned Trump.

Since Kamala has come along and and stole all his thunder by being... normal, Trump has lost the plot, but the last two weeks are on a whole new level.

I believe that Putin is cutting his losses and has walked away from this dumpster fire. This is what's causing Trump's (even more) unusual behavior. Sure, he's old and demented but the stress of losing his backing force has been weighing on him.

He's stressed about what happens to him now. Without the backing of Daddy, if he loses, there is a good chance he's finally held to account for his crimes. If he's not, does Putin finally wield what he's got over Trump to destroy him as punishment for failing?

But, don't consider this job done. Trump still pulled it out in 2016 after being written-off in the polls. The only chance you crazy, freedom-loving Americans have is to vote. Vote like there is no tomorrow because imagine what terrible revenge Trump would be capable of, if he does get into power now after being so badly burnt!

[-] ikidd@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Yah, that's optimistic.

[-] vxx@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Preparing a disinformation campaign on that scale takes time and resources.

putin has been busy controlling his own citizens since the counter attack of Ukraine in August.

trump is still his biggest hope to achieve his goals in Ukraine

[-] auzy@lemmy.world 28 points 2 days ago

It's possible as well that his family have officially told him to go fuck himself or he's been told by his lawyer that he's going to jail

He has a real chance of losing now and less than a month left. So surely he must know his life as he knows it has a serious chance of changing for the worst.

If he loses this election, the guy literally has nothing else to live for. Even he must be starting to recognise that screwing so many people has left him vulnerable

We also don't know about what other things he's being investigated for that haven't been announced (and there are likely a lot). He might have some insight to that too

[-] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

I can believe there are still people who think Trump is ever going to go to jail or face serious consequences. Best hope we have is for him to drop dead or overdose on big Macs

[-] auzy@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Why not? He's violating state of law too, and he's pissed off no shortage of judges either no doubt

Just remember, it takes years to persue this stuff, but there are a few that are wrapping up now

Why would Putin dump Trump? That's like Netanyahu dumping Trump, no?

[-] ChowJeeBai@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

No longer supplying him with uppers because of the embargo

[-] yesman@lemmy.world 76 points 2 days ago

Bongino is a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent with three failed congressional bids under his belt. He rose to prominence as a conservative pundit on Fox News during Trump’s first term as president. He very briefly had his own show on the network before “parting ways” with the company in 2023. (His 2018 departure from NRATV prompted a failed defamation suit against the Daily Beast.)

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bongino became one of the loudest voices against mask and vaccine mandates, which ultimately led to a permanent ban from YouTube in 2022. He currently hosts The Dan Bongino Show on the conservative platform Rumble.

It's extraordinary that while Kamala is spending the final stretch trying to expand her voter base, Trump is preaching to the choir. Ignore the "Trump exhausted" narritive. WTF is he wasting his time with this third tier clown in the middle of October?

[-] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 54 points 2 days ago

And yet polls are still neck and neck, giving Trump an advantage

I hate this country

[-] yeahiknow3@lemmings.world 28 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Anytime people blame the US government, as if it’s some abstract independently motivated entity, they need to remember that half the American citizenry wants things to be much much worse. They want a climate apocalypse, billionaire feudalism, religious nationalism, reproductive slavery, etc.

I find these posts blaming “Biden” for Israel or “Congress” for climate change utterly moronic. Dude, your parents and grandparents elected these people. They elected them in primaries for half a century straight, And they will do it again and again until there’s no living creature left on this husk of a planet. But sure, it’s some government representative that’s the problem.

Oh look, I finally have something in common with the con man. I also can't make it through a Dan Boingo interview!

[-] CuddlyCassowary@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago

Or a Trump interview, personally.

That X comment thread feels like it’s entirely comprised of angry divorced cops.

[-] Ultraviolet@lemmy.world 30 points 2 days ago

They're the only ones left on that dumpster fire. Angry divorced cops, crypto scammers, propaganda bots, and the occasional normal person holding out in hopes that it'll blow over (it won't).

[-] nifty@lemmy.world 36 points 2 days ago

And it’s still not certain that Harris is going to win this election…

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 21 points 2 days ago

Not by a long shot. Perhaps this is at least opening eyes a bit to how horrid the US duoply is. Trump could literally take a dump on an American flag and he'd still get the republican party vote which is nearly half the country, because what are they going to do?? Vote Democrat?! This two party bullshit is engrained to be part of an individual's identity. You don't just up and switch.

[-] AdamBomb@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 1 day ago

what are they going to do?? Vote Democrat?!

Stay home, I hope

[-] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 37 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Engrained is a funny way to say "survival mechanism". I don't vote Democrat because I like them. I vote Democrat because I'm a gay, anticapitalist, and transgender immigrant and don't want to be the victim of Republicans, who constantly preach about how much they want me to not exist. Democrats may not accomplish anything but at least they aren't calling for my death. There isn't another viable option in the US, but if there was I would vote for them instead.

[-] Dkarma@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

No shit. Dude ur responding too pretending like the difference isn't night and day.

There's not a thing wrong with Harris as a candidate.

Can't say the same for treason trump.

He’s not looking great. I’m wondering if the reason his makeup looks so raggedy at the edges is not that the makeup has changed but that he’s that much paler underneath. Any rumors on fluid leakage around his shoes? Edema will weep when it’s bad enough.

[-] FunderPants@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 days ago

Wonder if he has long Covid, or you know, caught a case of old man.

What, did he take 5 questions then pipe in his Spotify for the rest of the interview?

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago

After about half an hour, as Bongino tried to ask another question, Trump said, “Hey, Dan, off the record, I gotta get going,” seeming not to realize the interview was airing live.

“seeming”

[-] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Also, why the hell would that need to be "off the record"??

[-] Archer@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Also, the journalist has to agree to “off the record”. You can’t just say it and force the journalist to agree

[-] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 11 points 2 days ago

LoL that's because BIDEN Poisoned him so he would Drop Out of the Race but Trump, the MAN who can't make it through ONE Interview, is TOO Strong!
