I read in this article that the founder of Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, said that "Israel" will no longer exist by 2027 (I think the original clip of the interview is here). What do you think of his prediction?

wowee

I feel dumb for not connecting the supposed desire to protect LGBT to the old excuse of bringing civilization to the colonized. It's the same thing with the same outcome.

Yes, I am not strong in the English language and I am learning it during this period. Do you know programs or applications for learning the English language well?

Good to hear from you Mahmoud! I hope this all ends soon ♥️🍉♥️
Do you have any books, poets or musicians you can recommend?

Also what is your favourite animal, if you have one?

And lastly, do you think protesting in other countries helps Palestine or palestinians? At times I feel it is only more... extreme actions that matter at all.

Sending love brother, I hope it ends soon.

You ever read Joe Sacco?

I was first introduced to the palestinian perspective through his graphic novel 'Palestine'

[-] mahmoud@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago

I don't know him to be honest, but I will look for him now

How do buildings get built? Most of the buildings I have seen pictures of are reinforced concrete; are you entirely reliant on shipments of concrete and steel rebar for buildings? Or is it possible to get wood and bricks?

In Cuba, under the years of the embargo and especially during the "Special Period" in the 1990s after the Soviet Union fell, people everywhere became handymen and tinkerers, to the point where they keep repairing their own cars for decades, and they assemble their own electronics from scavenged parts. Has something similar been going on in Gaza since 2006? And did this change at all after October 2023?

It is true that most of the buildings are made of concrete, because the population density in Gaza is so large that we cannot build wooden houses. It is true that most of the things we manufacture in Gaza know manufacturing better and more than manufacturing in Egypt. And most Arab countries because most of them depend on exports

[-] mahmoud@hexbear.net 16 points 1 week ago

Here are some details in a previous AMA. The answer was "they are only permitted for al-muqawamin, not for the general public".

I don’t have much money but I try to donate whatever I can to organizations that help Palestinians, usually UNRWA and the Palestine Childrens Relief Fund. Do know of any other organizations that do good work or that have helped out you and others?

[-] mahmoud@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago

It is better to help people direct , better than charitable organizations, In order to provide their basic needs, there are other priorities that charitable organizations cannot provide. Also aid from charitable organizations most of the aid is similar

[-] CleverOleg@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

Thanks for letting me know!

[-] mahmoud@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

I want to go to Jerusalem. I want to go everywhere in Palestine, and I really hope that it will be liberated as soon as possible.

I read the other day that 60% of Gaza is gone. Have you lost your home too?

[-] mahmoud@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

My house is almost destroyed and is not fit for living. It has received so many shells that nothing remains intact
