reason: Rule 3 - No opinion articles

This is the article, as you can see it is very clearly a news article about a current event and not at all an opinion article.

reason: Misinformation. Two parliament victories out of 650 members is NOT a nightmare for the opposition.

It's a clickbaity title at worst, b ut it is not misinformation. A party losing a swing seat is not a good sign, especially considering Starmers growing unpopularity. This ban was purely a mods opinion, there was no 'misinformation'.

reason: Multiple posting rule violations, especially opinion and misinformation articles. Please read the rules in the sidebar in future.

The mod used these two lies to justify a ban from the community. What point is reading the rules in the sidebar meant to serve if they're not legitimately being enforced?

Seems like you got banned because you have long history of using low credibility site as new source, or those who use catchy, flashy headline that mislead reader from the headline alone. And i can see the removal of your posts from multiple different mod.

Try this instead: instead of posting stuff from those site that got removed, look for the same article from credible source, and post that instead.

It seems to me YDI. You keep using unreliable and sensationalist sources in a community with rules against such sources.

Right and did I ever post an opinion piece? Is a clickbaity title misinformation?

You're all so quick to focus on something unrelated to the actual issue which is the lyings for the reason of those removals.

The point is that these sites are extremely unreliable and it adds a lot of work to the reader to distinguish fact from opinion from misinformation. The reason for the removals I think is meant to encompass the fact that you mostly seem to be posting these unreliable sources.

And in regards to that I had already had prior discussions with mods in both World and News and we came to an understanding on what is acceptable and what isn't.

None of that justifies deliberately incorrectly labeling a news article an opinion piece, removing the post, and citing posting opinion pieces as a reason for a ban. It's completely bogus.

YDI, you were posting unreliable sources repeatedly and failing to notice them being removed or ignoring the notice you recieved from mods when removing them. You need to use reputable sources in the news communities, that's going to be true no matter what news community you post in.

This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
