Thank god we don't live in some ridiculous Eastern European mass surveilance red terror dystopia. Anything even remotely close will never happen under a democratic leadership

If you think just because you live in a supposedly democratic nation that they are not doing these exact same things, you are either naive, ignorant, or stupid. Ignorance can at least be fixed by research.

The databases at my company nearly 30 years ago were staggering at the time. I can only imagine.
