Most people will steal a bit of stationary from work.

This mf'er stole a whole plane.

Respect.

You'd think we have ion thrusters or anti gravity devices with the money we've tossed at this thing. Hell we'd probably have a full blown moon base. But nope just another tribute to enshittification crap-it-all-ism. :inshallah-script:

Probably a windows update rendering the plane a brick midflight lol.

Aren't there actual ion thrusters on interplanetary probes?

[-] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Not in interplanetary probes afaik, NASA tested them successfully in 1964, and Soviets used few hundreds of them for satellite stabilisation since 70's. Tiangong station also use them for stabilisation.

Yes, a few. Dawn, Deep Space 1, BepiColumbo, and a few others.

And the yanks are still coping and claim it's totally a good plane. Oh look, it has VTOL! Wow! Not like we had it for ages, finally figured it out, huh?

[-] luchuan@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 2 years ago

VTOL with an emphasis on L lmfao. VTOL deez nutz, Lockheed bozos

[-] DefinitelyNotAPhone@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago

Damn, for $135 million you'd think they'd slap an Airtag on the thing while flying domestically.

I figured they'd put one of those little sticky tiles in it like my dad has in has car, so he can hit the button on his keychain and it makes the car beep.
