Not that I really care, but I just finished a rewatch of tenet and thought he might be a good fit. Loved him in the lighthouse and good time. Haven’t seen his Batman movie though.

If they want another five movies out of the next Bond actor, I'm not sure that's Pattinson. Craig has been vocal about not liking being stuck with the character for five movies. And Pattinson already has experience being saddled with a less-than-stellar character for movie after movie (Twilight).

I would be more interested in 007 movies rather than James Bond. Keep the universe, put different characters in the 007 position so we get fresh stories. 27 Bond films seems like plenty, I'm not sure how much more can be said about Bond. I would be more interested to see Pattinson as 007 and free from the Bond baggage.

Be careful what you wish for. That would inevitably end up in some bad multiverse team up.

free from the Bond baggage

Is there Bond baggage? Prior to Daniel Craig I don't think we knew anything about James Bond and his personal life. For a given Bond actor we might get a little bit of backstory or a maybe film connection, but it was all within the films for that actor.

Sure Desmond Llewelyn played Q for the majority of Bond films, and Judi Dench played M in two Bond series, but they never talked about the "other" Bond.

Also James Bond doesn't have a canonical backstory like Batman. There is no "his parents died after the theater show" origin.

As long as he's "British" he can be James Bond.

Being pigeon holed.

Staying Bond-fit for 15 years.

Declining majority of other projects for the length of tenure as Bond.

Dealing with "fans" who want the character to remain unchanged from the racist and sexist 1960s version.

Dealing with fans in general after 15 years being the face of one of the most recognizable franchises in western film.

Craig specifically had some really nasty body shaming comments slung his way for being too small, too short, not handsome enough, blah de blah.

"Boo hoo, he made millions per movie". Yes, and he's vocally ready to make millions from other projects that he finds more in line with his current interests.

Oh I see what you mean. Amazon owns James Bond now and I think they spent a pretty penny on it, so we might get a bunch of spin offs without that... But we're definitely still getting a regular Bond.

I'd sign up for 5 movies, shit

Barry Keoghan, portraying just an average unassuming Joe in the real world but working as a spy. No glamor, no suits, no fancy parties, and not even gorgeous models. Everything is dressed down until the moment of action ... like Jack Reacher but less killing machine and more just a clever spy that is more relatable as an average Joe.

Ooo I would really like this choice. He has range from what I've seen and didn't look out of place getting in fights and being rowdy in Masters of the Air because he certainly does look unassuming and not everyone is good at action sequences.

Henry Cavill:

That's the real-life mission that Ian Fleming used to create both Bond and M.

Not a good fit for Bond (IMO), but that movie looks great!

It was an unfortunate disappointment.
