After being chased out, the so-called QAnon Queen of Canada made her way to set up base in an abandoned school in rural Saskatchewan.

Claiming to be the Queen of Canada and having a cult following.

So all she's missing from being an actual monarch is acknowledgement lmao. How'd this crazy b even become a thing

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 39 points 2 years ago

Technically, yes, but she's also batshit crazy, so you'd have to go back to George III for a comparison.

She also has made calls for violence and is such a virulent anti-vaxxer that she has actually called for all vaccines to be destroyed.

There are more gems at her Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romana_Didulo

I'd assume you have to be batshit crazy to attempt something like this, yes.

Why hasn't she been arrested for calling to violence, trying to stage a coup, threating destruction of property or anything like that?

Because authority figures seem to be really lenient to right wingers for some odd reason...

Though Didulo did not initially explain the basis for her claim to be the Monarch of Canada, she later clarified that she had been "appointed" to that position by an American named David J. Carlson, purportedly the "Commander-In-Chief" and "King" of the United States.

She doesn't even understand who has the power to appoint monarchs according to all previous monarchy laws.

She can't be the queen, Canada already has a queen: Scott Thompson

Have your subordinates go into the mayor's office and tell them you're in charge, like that's gonna work.

Depending on the amount of weaponry that could def work

From the article: "It is unknown what DEFCON1 means."

It means nuclear war is happening or is about to happen.

Nuclear. Goddamned. War.

Drive these nutbars into the sea and keep them there.

[-] loutr@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 years ago

Yeah but it's an USAF system. "Canada remains in DEFCON1" makes no sense.

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago

Doesn't Canada and the USA have shared strategic air defense?

[-] klemptor@lemmy.ml 33 points 2 years ago
