Pretty self-explanatory but the idea is to combine the "share" logo with the crossbones. The message is peers 2 peers, from many to many, sharing is caring, but the deisgn still recalls the awesome pirate flag.

I love it! Would definitely vote this as the new logo

What if we use this as the bones, and put a skull above it

[-] Zbradaraldjan@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

This stands well enough on its own. And the skull, although kinda classy in an edgy way, will always hold a rather negative connotation.

Call me corny but a little floppy disk or a globe or something could be cool

[-] Kowowow@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

A globe for the cranium and a floppy for the jaw maybe?

Looking at this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolly_Roger

It looks like the main historical elements used in pirate vexillology were:

  • a skull

  • a skeleton

  • crossbones

  • a sword, spear, or dagger

  • a heart, often bleeding

  • an hourglass

  • elements of period seagoing clothing

also makes sense for fedi being made up of hundreds of smaller nodes, nice

[-] LogicalReality@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Minimal and good, I like it

[-] Deceptichum@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

It also looks like a central node branching off into four, showing centralisation over peers.

Maybe a more spherical structure with links between all nodes?

The jolliest Roger.

[-] Vincent-Van-Vega@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

I'm so happy about the transition!

[-] LostCause@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Well I like it, it‘s fairly simple and that is good for logos.

Commenting so I can find this again later.

I need a sticker of this. You mind if I make one for myself?

[-] nomadank@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

I'll say yes, so technically if you do use it it would be an act of piracy 👀

[-] IHawkMike@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I think you can just take it. 😄

I wouldn’t steal from another pirate. That’s just uncivilized

It looks a little like the World Government flag from One Piece.

[-] noxy@yiffit.net 2 points 1 year ago

That fucking rules!

[-] p5f20w18k@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Put different coloured/themed skull in each circle

[-] kakise@mlem.a-smol-cat.fr 2 points 1 year ago

It's like the world gov flag rotated 45°

Thie is worthy of r/vexillology, or the eventualy Lemmy equivalent. Well done!

Edit: Turns out there is a vexillology communtiy on Lemmy. Awesome!

Can we put Lemmy Kilmister in the middle of it?
