Most subs only protested during those two days. If all 8k subreddits had committed to a indefinite blackout, there would little reddit admins could do.
No need to apologize for it!
I know about it. It was just a joke. But good write up
That was some weak ass protest anyway. Let's protest for just 2 days! No wonder Steve Huffman just gloated about it all over and even called the mods "landed gentry"
Are you ready for a miracle?
People, just trust me, Gabe Newell: it's actually really safe! It's controlled by a Steam Deck hot wired into a version of Source that runs Half-Life 2 and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines at the same time it controls the sub. Just don't pick Malkavian on the selection screen, otherwise the lights might flicker, and the sub might malfunction, leaving you stuck deep at sea.
Thank you for the thoughtful response, as I was genuinely interested to know what axion was.
As a side note, I remember reading about CP violations a while back (scientists love to use the metaphor of "how to distinguish left from right" to explaining those) and they were saying that CPT symmetry was inviolable, but they did also thought the same about Charge (C), Parity (P) and Time (T) before. Do you think we will ever see a CPT violation?
The issue here is that people think this is novel due to the way things that have been done recently. It's not. If a 10 or 5 year phone could do it... your newly released iPhone would probably as well. However, unfortunately, it's in Apple's main interest to keep their clientele 'zealot' through brand image (people see iphones as a status thing, at least here in Brazil) and planned obsolescence, so they don't really have to improve the phone or act beneficial towards the consumer.
Thank you for sharing it! I had no clue that such an archive existed.
Zlib shutting down was like the modern equivalent of the burning of the Library of Alexandria, but for piracy.
I'm so happy about the transition!
I hope we will see a new RIF (Reddit is Fun) for either Lemmy or Kbin
