While fundamentally a MOBA, the game’s “Smash Bros.” influences mean it feels distinct from other entries in the genre; falling off maps, and replacing health-bar eliminations.

I don't think it's gonna be very popular if it's "just" a MOBA. While Smash Bros. is a great game on the technical level (except Brawl), they are carried by the massive IPs that appear in the game(s).
