Amazon critics are also calling for a boycott following the closure of seven warehouses in Quebec, leading to a loss of 1,700 jobs in the province — 4,500 if subcontractors are included, according to the CSN union. Amazon is now facing legal action from CSN.

Better late than never to not encourage an exploitative employer, I guess.

As long as they attempt to compete. Where I live, i tried ordering a $50 item from a store that is a 2 hour car ride from me and the shipping is $40. So it’s no wonder people saw Amazon prime and jumped on it

Yeah this is a big gripe of mine. And I've been trying to be more conscious of buy Canadian now, but if I'm paying twice as much just to enrich the Canadian far-right billionaire instead of the American one, then what's the point?
