I've read elsewhere that there's a bug that shows that notification when there's an update, but it doesn't show the update option.
That's what I've read anyway.

I'd wondered if that might be it, thanks.
I know the developer is active here, so thought it night be a good opportunity for them to address it ahead of more questions. ๐
I did an update all from the play store and it went away. Interestingly, Voyager was not one of the apps listed.
I had a notification number after I updated it from F-Droid so no "Notification for a new update for me"
First I've heard this.
I was getting the notification, but I'm still half-Googled until I get this phone paid off and blah blah blah
Anyways the point is that I have my apps set to auto-update, so once I stopped having the issue I assumed it had updated itself.
I'm on 2.24.2 by the way
The funny thing is:
The version 2.24.2 is the latest update as of writing this, and on the github page says
fix: android showing spurious setting tab badge https://github.com/aeharding/voyager/releases/tag/2.24.2
But I got the badge on the version it supposed to fix it
I saw that too. Went to "about" and there was an selection to show the receipt changes. It wasn't well labeled though.
The "What's New" link to the GitHub repo? I see now it's mentioned as a fix in the most recent version. ๐๐ป
Weirdly mine seems to have disappeared without doing anything around the time I read this post...
