Must have made decent money with the price. I know I'm not paying for an app that's been out of date for so long. So he's lost my ultra renewal, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Lemmy's growth has stagnated but it will persist. Trust in LJD (the Sync dev) will not.

Prompted me to give Jerboa a go after some time. I think it's useable enough now to switch over and stick with.

It's still massively behind sync in several areas obviously but it has most everything. Be good to have more UI options and a few other conveniences but the big stuff is there.

I did hedge on sync, just ad blocking the free version as the pro prices seemed a bit gouge-y but bear in mind the guy had his whole side hustle swiped away from him in a gross and upsetting manner!

Replying from it now! Pretty nice!

Ty 4 the rec, Summit is awesome! Similar to Sync in all the best ways!

[-] kratoz29@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah, what I really like is the smoothness of the app altogether.

Best part of this community is watching the seven stages of grief in users who paid for lifetime lmao

I moved on to Boost. It's sad but Sync was already too broken.

[-] kratoz29@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

Boost and Sync were my favorites for Reddit... I wonder why Sync is in a very broken state but Boost isn't ๐Ÿค” (both don't update often).

[-] kratoz29@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

I'd be happy with it if only it kept marking as read the posts on scroll... Like come on, I am not a code guy, but I am aware it only requires a single code line to fix.

[-] unscholarly_source@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

It might be a single line to fix, but there's a deployment and publishing pipeline that we don't necessarily know how it works.. not saying it's impossible, just saying that it's slightly more involved than just a single line

Yeah, was searching for this, how to enable and why it wasn't working. Ugh!

It doesn't, my favorite apps for Lemmy at the moment:

  1. Summit
  2. Boost
  3. Voyager
  4. Eternity

They all have said features (and a button to clean read posts).

He didn't. We'll hear something soonish hopefully.

My dad works for sync.

[-] PumaStoleMyBluff@lemmy.world 0 points 3 months ago

It's been this way since Sync was a reddit app. Pretty typical for the author to go on a 6-12 month hiatus. They've always come back eventually.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works -1 points 3 months ago

Very fair question, but I was hoping to wait and let him say something.

[-] potustheplant@feddit.nl 1 points 3 months ago

Which is another way of saying "wishful thinking"?

He followed up on my bug report last week. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm guessing the new 0.19.9 release and the 1.0 announcement probably delayed things.
