Is Nix on Droid the same Nix? Because I remember giving it a try and seemed to be broken, but never bothered to look more into it... Also this was like 2 years ago.
Well that was a shot in the dark. I tried it, but the install process is slow as fuck and the amount of disk space used is questionable. See https://github.com/nix-community/nix-on-droid/issues/280#issuecomment-2365160633.
But if we skip that, it's awesome!
Though wasn't able to use my shell aliases right away without entering a second bash shell every fucking time. But it's a small price to pay for salvation.

Yes. But it's slower because everything is run in PRoot, in order to make /nix/store writable without root
