Do your monitors have power buttons?

You can still run xscreensaver on wayland with this workaround.

env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY xscreensaver --no-splash

You will not have a lock functionality and you will have to configure it in an X11 session as I still haven't gotten xscreensavers settings to run.

Same here. I think it's a monitor issue as it doesn't occur when one of my monitors is unplugged. I've seen it on two computers now, so I think it's specific to Windows 11 and certain monitors.

Is one of your monitors VGA by any chance?

Test this first: Unplug your monitor from the power. Power goes out right? Now. Plug it back in. Does the monitor power back up and display the PC desktop without touching any buttons?

If so, get a smart strip (power strip) like this one. The way these work is that there are different outlets on them. Some outlets are "on" all the time. One is a "control" outlet that watches for power being drawn through it. The remaining are automatically switched on and off depending if power draw is detected on the "control" outlet.

So you'd plug your PC into the "control" and your monitor into an auto switchable outlet. When your PC wakes from sleep, it will draw more power, turning on the switchable outlet, and your monitor comes on. When the PC goes to sleep, the "control" outlet will see there is no power draw, and turn off the monitor because its plugged into an auto switchable outlet on the strip.

Note: I've never used that particular brand I linked. There are a bunch of brands that do this same function.
