Chrome, edge, they only exist to download Firefox as far as I'm concerned.

Firefox changed their TOS to allow them to harvest data for their AI (if you're using their AI, so far as I'm aware).

You might want to use an Invidious instance, which hasn't been blocked by Google (typically smaller instances) or a dedicated YouTube application, like FreeTube.
It's the YouTube webpage that's coded like absolute fucking garbage and to only work on Chrome. The watching-videos part works just fine on Firefox.

I've always had problems with video playback with Firefox. With that being said I'll check out free tube
