That's so sweet! I wished posts like these were more popular.
Please don’t post the same thing three times.
They posted it in different communities, all using a link that's hosted elsewhere.
It's not their fault that we're scrolling all instead of individual communities.
I'd say that it should be entirely fine to post to different (relevant) communities. The point of different communities is to let people who may have different tastes choose just the ones that they want.
The problem is that the software doesn't presently do a great job of presenting these. Like, from a user standpoint, if browsing a list containing posts from multiple communities
be it All or multiple communities that I'm subscribed to
I'd like to see one entry for all of them, with sections for each cross-posted community.
That should really be fixed on the software side, not by users trying to patch around it via modifying their posting behavior.
Who only browses individual communities? We would be on HN if we only wanted one com.
Three coms is spam
The default for many apps seems to be a Subscribed feed.
However, I prefer to browse all and block/filter things I don't want to see and I think it's okay that this has the downside of seeing a cross post multiple times. I knew what I was getting myself into.
It's just annoying that I have to copy an important comment into all posts to reach everyone interested.
We discussed it over the weekend. Three is the maximum allowable.
No, please do. People can just scroll by fo they've seen it but this is the first time I'm seeng this and it's adorkable and made my day, thank you.
Video Game Art
Video games are not mere time killers. They are albums of sound, aesthetics, animation and narrative.
This community is in appreciation of that. Screenshots, fanart, animations, gameplay clips. It is all welcome here.
The one common thread should be an eye for the aesthetic. This is not a place to discuss mechanics or stats, but to show off simply the artistic, expressed through the video game medium.
- All rules of the parent instance apply. That is, sopuli.xyz
- Include the name of the game your post is associated with in the post title.
- If your post is fanart, include a link to the artist in post body, if you can. You may also ping @saucechan@ani.social to have it attempt to find the source for you, and provide it in a comment.
- MARK ANY TEXT SPOILERS, as for art, do not post content that outright spoils key moments of a games narrative. Content that can only be understood with the context of having played the game, is ok.
- No generative AI art.
