Great news! Mixxx is getting so close to being permanently usable for me and the more work being put in just pushes it closer and closer. Hopefully by this time next year I can fuck off Traktor DJ and more importantly move permanently away from Windows!

Hell yeah! I love seeing Mixxx getting new features.

I've tried it several times over the years, but was disappointed every time to find that it was very crashy. I hope they get that sorted out.

That's quite surprising, the stable builds were always very stable for me. I used to DJ several times a month in public for 4-6 hours at a time and only had a problem when I tried to run beta builds, which was admittedly a stupid idea.

I don't find it surprising at all. Lots of software bugs remain hidden until some circumstance triggers them. Different hardware, different levels of system load, different filesystems... all sorts of things can make a difference.

For what it's worth, I was using packaged builds on Ubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, and Debian.

Glad you've been lucky. :)
