When you sort what by "newest"?
The main feed that pops up when I come to the site? Is that not what they call it here, I am new to Lemmee
Do you mean https://lemm.ee/post/56789435?scrollToComments=true maybe? Several people in there seem to be complaining about the same thing, but it's not happening for me on my instance, not sure what's going on.
Yup, that is the one. So not something I am doing wrong then just some current oddity with the site. I can live with that, was just curious. Thanks!

The main feed, sorry I thought I put that part in the title the one that shows stuff from all your communities, I thought the decentralized format here means a sticky like that would be only in its own community?
If an instance admin stickies a post it'll show up at the top of all your feeds (unless you sort by "top").
However, I checked lemm.ee and it doesn't have any stickied posts, but it does have a month old post is stuck at the top of "all". Comments in the thread are complaining about it. I see lemm.ee is using the newest version of Lemmy (v0.19.10) so maybe it's a new bug?
It might be that "show old posts" is deselected in settings.
