Sorry if I am being a bit thick, but I have now subscribed to Nabu Casa and the remote access works great over the web, but I am confused how the companion app is meant to work. I assumed it was meant to “failover" to remote access when I left the home network. What am I missing?

I believe when you signed up you were given a link to access it externally and you have to enter that into your companion app as your server address and then there's an option to enter the internal IP address and your SSID so that when you are on Wi-Fi it will just go directly to it instead of using the external link.

@bazcurtis @homeassistant@fosstodon.org @homeassistant@lemmy.world @homeassistant@a.gup.pe @homeassistant@chirp.social in the URL setting there should be an option for Internal URL and external URL. Internal you need to set your SSID that is internal. And external should be able to just turn on Home Assistant Cloud.

Thanks very much. The SSID was set, but I was looking at the Network setting under System. All good now, thanks very much.Annoyingly it changes the sidebar order between sessions. I will sort that out later.
