Windows 2000 was an Awesome OS in general. It brought all the improvements of XP... but was lighter and more stable.
Maybe I am misunderstanding you, but Windows 2000 came before XP. So it is more like XP got all of the 2000 improvements, but was the consumer version.
You are correct. It was tough to get into a small statement… but it’s this
2000 and XP are both NT kernel BUT 2000 is much more lightweight and went STRONG
XP was nicer for consumers because it was more shiny and played better with Win9x things… but 2000 was objectively fucking awesome in comparison (so long as everything you wanted was 2000 compatible)
Remember 2000 had a long support life
I'm in agreement with you on this. The only thing XP had over 2000 was the (new at the time) inclusion of drivers for the majority of common PC hardware. It was staggering now much nicer it was to have hardware truly be "plug n play" for the first time since MS trotted that tagline out. Windows 2K only really started having issues late in the XP lifespan when newer hardware started coming out without 2K drivers and you either had to attempt to hack the driver or hope someone already did it and released it online or start trying to buy old or used hardware.
