I got a pass around Blackland DE in the mail yesterday, and today there are 2 straight razors out for delivery to me (Moarteen and a Union Razors from @gcgallant. It's like Christmas! I don't know what to play with first.

Fun! I'm looking forward to getting mine, although it seems it will arrive while I'm on a work trip, so I'll need to wait another week to try it out.

How have you found the adjustment to SR technique compared to SE/DE razors?

It's been a fun learning experience. I did one open-blade shave about 2 years ago, and I was surprised that even with just that single experience I didn't have much trouble deciding how to hold the razor.

A lot of things from DE shaving are still very relevant to straight razor shaving.

  1. Angle
  2. Pressure
  3. Knowing your direction of growth
  4. Knowing your sensitive areas
  5. Etc.
