No one knows, but here is a click bait article headline for some ad impressions!

The Windows Webcam camera settings, when I finally find them on Windows 11 to control pan and zoom, have been the same for 25 years, maybe 30. The thing is, it used to be easy to find the controls, but they keep making Windows slower & harder to use. It’s such a rat nest.

I think OpenAI’s recent sycophant issue has cause a new spike in these stories. One thing I noticed was these observations from these models running on my PC saying it’s rare for a person to think and do things that I do.

The problem is that this is a model running on my GPU. It has never talked to another person. I hate insincere compliments let alone overt flattery, so I was annoyed, but it did make me think that this kind of talk would be crack for a conspiracy nut or mentally unwell people. It’s a whole risk area I hadn’t been aware of.

Who says the government isn’t efficient?

[-] 7rokhym@lemmy.ca 48 points 2 months ago

Interesting takes on CBC, but reality is that Polievre is shit. He lost this election because he is terrible, stupid, lazy and inept. He wasn’t ready for an election, he didn’t do his homework, he ran scared of the media, he is stupid (demonstrated by his understanding of electricity and bread). That he believed he could treat Canadians with such disdain and disrespect. He deserves the rest of his life as an insult stuck to the sole of my shoe.

His explanations of where household electricity comes from, and how storing bread in Plastic bags keep it from going moldy should be proof enough this man is a complete idiot. Science, reason, and logic are very dangerous to idiots, so it would be the first to go under his regime.

The US government doesn't give a shit about anything except excuses for their catastrophic tariff plan. They want to highlight issues that will never be negotiable so they can justify them to Faux News and their Trumper cult. It is a classic divide an conquer technique on Canada. Further, I am sure Russia is running troll farms with misinformation on us now.

Dairy industry, VS oil and gas, VS Québécois.

Who is next?

Concede nothing to the US.

Pierre Polievre's own uncle-in-law crossed Roxham Road on foot in 2018.

After failing to get his refugee claim approved, he appears to have lived undocumented in Canada with a deportation order in his name.

According to documents obtained by The Breach, Poilievre’s relative—the uncle of his wife, Anaida Poilievre—received help from her and an undisclosed MP’s office in 2021 in his efforts to get permanent residency.

WTH?!?

Microsoft could also be terrified of how shitty Windows 11 is. I have to think back to Millennium Edition to compare to something this disastrous, but Satya doesn't care about Windows, Surface, or XBox. Microsoft's future is M365, Azure, and D365. Big fat high margin Enterprise Agreements since everyone is locked into their proprietary shitty office formats. And they get enterprise problems with audit, identify, access control like few other businesses.

What I don't know understand is why companies refuse to sell off businesses that they know will die off from their neglect. A shame, except for Windows.

I'm really happy with my experience with GOG, but they put a lot of effort into their Windows app and i ws pretty blunt with my feedback, it is pretty useless to me and I find it unhelpful. Heroic game launcher on Linux great and cost GOG $0.00. My thought is that they have been focusing on the wrong things, fundamentally I love their strong DRM stance and when I am travelling internationally, the games I bought off GOG work, unlike Steam😡😡😡😡. So if they have come to this realization, then nothing about these changes are disturbing as a customer, but sad to hear their employees taking the hit. 😢

YouTube ruined Christmas. I can't stand my relatives anymore, they watch every conspiracy clip and now they are a thousand miles down the rabbit hole and I can't handle them for more than a few days a year. I hate evil Google or alphabet, or whatever they call themselves.

I forgot my bags at the grocery store, so I told the clerk I'd like to buy one of their expensive plastic bags. She denied they had plastic bags anymore. I explained polyester. She was shocked.

People have no clue. Nylon, PVC, PET, spandex, and the most insane, vegan leather. Turns out, polyurethane is not made out of vegans.

The other concern is censorship. Essentially a movie that you bought is on a server and then someone's decided that words, content, or scenes are no longer appropriate. The video, song, etc, is different from the original and without any notification. The old scenes get sent to the memory hole. Oh dear Winston, I fear we will meet soon!

Backup was on Azure. I get the sentiment on the cloud, but there is no excuse for this incompetence at Google.
