Exact same thing happened to me, but not since I switched to the onboard memory manager. Do you need the profile switches for games, if not its easy.
if you don't want to filter them all manually you could check instances that blocks more other languages instances. For example, the instance I'm member of, feddit.de blocks a japanese instance because its impossible to moderate the content without knowing what the post means. https://lemmy.world/instances scroll to blocked vs https://feddit.de/instances scroll to blocked
Yes element works, I use it still. I had issues with cinny as a discord replacement. This was in the time from march-april.
