In My Place in my ass

In addition to the others that replied to you:

The owners made an example of the journalist that broke the Panama Papers story.

This is probably the number one reason I'd be giddy about it.

Our species desperately needs to learn some humility. We're literally destroying our only habitat out of blind arrogance and greed.

If they didn't come in peace. We're boned, and everyone's problems are over.

If they did, at some point they're still going to need to use corrective action on our arrogant monkey asses.

Because all human history.

As an adult, it's the biggest plothole in Trek to me. Species so far ahead of us taking our lead only a couple hundred years after we took a break bombing each other and managed to cobble together a single, shitty warp drive a Vulcan toddler could probably improve the design of at a casual glance. If there was a consortium of species, at our stage we'd correctly need to beg to get provisional Jr. membership after 1,000 years of probationary observation.

They really shouldn't take us until our species agrees to stop letting people starve while others grow obese just to get the fat sucked out of them to do it again.

We as a people, culture, and society are frankly too selfish and horrible to do something as decent as that. Not our fault, we've been and continue to be conditioned by the owners to be a nation of irredeemable wannabe sociopaths at each other's throats, but the fact remains that's who we are.

Enjoy the cesspool, where greed/sociopathy is our only practiced value, and watching our poorie kids kill poorie kids (because this never happens at the nepo baby private schools) is our national pastime.

Not like we became horrible or anything, we always were. We're a nation built by slaves owned by religious zealots on top of a genocide(of people who lived in homeostasis with the earth instead of actively setting it on fire) who's top exports are tools of volume murder and blueprints for other nations to better exploit their citizenry for their elite's private profit, not like there was ever any grace to lose.

Oh but hey the Axis sunk our pacific fleet once and we fought back after we were attacked which apparently makes us virtuous heroes(?) or something.

As someone on their second foldable, fold 3 now fold 6, the crease is truly, I promise you, a non issue. Unless you're doing detained drawing with the S-pen, not my use case, it has no meaningful effect on the experience. For single person consumption, you almost have to consciously try to position it in a way that's visible when watching a video, for example.

I'd actually miss the crease, as it gives the screen a kind of magic book-esque quality. The biggest problem with foldables in my experience is the odd aspect ratio universal to all of them, something a tri fold design may actually mitigate.

Sometimes, you just need to wipe the drawing board clean and start over. 🤷👋 🔥

I curse with abandon in front of my kid, not at him, just in conversation. Expletives are part of language, and are just more words for the toolbox, useful in adding a little spice or emphasis to a point.

If a teacher ever contacts me to say they used a vulgar word, my first question that will inform my response, if any, will be "how did they use it, specifically?"

I see our, the US's, childish aversion to curse words as part of its childish puritanical roots based in wilfill ignorance. Guns all day, but ahhhhh dirty words! Ahhhhh boobies! Our response to such things are what's embarrassing.

If you want me to take anyone's censorship of anything seriously in this cesspool, start by advocating censoring glorification of "muh 2A," and maybe I'll take you seriously.

Outsourcing is the problem.

The owners take advantage of our commons, tear up our roads, and succeeded because of domestic infrastructure, only to refuse to pay full price for labor and allowing even those wages, in lieu of the taxes they bribe our government to enact loopholes to dodge, to "trickle down" domestically as their always bullshit yay market capitalism talking points lied?

It's absolutely clownshoes that outsourcing labor/manufacturing is allowed, not because of domestic shortages for a skill, but to explicitly pay pennies on the dollar for the employees you need and screw the country you don't want to pay taxes to despite record profits even harder.

It's insane. But we let the owner class dictate whatever they want here, and our well bribed government will even sell it for them by calling it "something something freedom" while never mentioning social consequences, accountability, or responsibility. We aren't so much a country as a piggy bank and cudgel for the global owner class.

I Wouldn't expect any less from this gold plated cesspool founded on genocide, slavery, and exploitation.

"herp derp but we saved the world and beat the Nazis!" Yeah, we fought and defeated the Axis... after they decimated our pacific fleet and brought the war to us. Prior to that, eugenics were popular here, and practiced. Hell, some of our most infamous capitalists supplied and financed both sides of that war, after all, private profit is what America is all about.

We're dogshit, all the way back to the zealots fleeing Europe to be bigger religious prudes and nutters. The only amazing thing about our country is its ridiculously massive, undeserved ego.

I don't like Joe Biden, I'll never forget the Neoliberal bullshit he did with the Republicans in the 90s we are still suffering from further eviscerating the safetynet to the draconian war on people suffering addiction. He's one of the OG former opposition party members the Reagan Revolution convinced to take the bigger bribe checks from Wall Street than Unions could ever match, today's neoliberal(D) party.

That said, I voted for him in the last election, and I will again out of harm reduction. He has improved on policy, but l even if he didn't, the American people do not get a vote on whether or not to elect a senile President this cycle.

You can have any President you like, as long as he's senile. If you vote, we'll get a senile President. If you don't, we'll get a senile President.

The question is whether you want senile and gleefully cruel(R), or just senile(D). I'll take just senile.

Remember, small impressionable children, oligarchy and rigged market capitalism is the only way, everything else is evil and anti-freedom, and remember to compete against your fellow Americans to try to get more than them!

For our next lesson, critical thinking and reasoning! Just kidding, we don't do that here. It doesn't help to make you better laborers.

And now onto history, open your textbooks to page 33:

Would I hurt other people in some strange hypothetical to literally save my family's life from certain death? Maybe, and I'd be guilt ridden about it for the rest of my life.

Would I hurt people to make more money? Of course not, and that's not a defensible reason to hurt others... at all, and it makes you deeply broken at your core, especially as habit.

Really the only thing I can think of as a more horrifying reason to be cruel to others than "for money herp derp" would be "because its fun!"

Hurting others for profit in the name of business shouldn't be a defense, it should be considered an admission of guilt and come with consequences.

Fuck it, if we're dumb/selfish enough to be doing this, let's get it over with.

Good luck dolphin people! My only advice, if you have any dolphins incessantly trying to claim more resources for themselves than all the other dolphins, beat the ever loving shit out of them and nip that in the bud.

Greed is the most destructive human impulse, but prudishness still wins handily in the fucking annoying category.

Oh no, boobs, those things pretty much everyone likes, the horror!
