Well that’s not where I was going with that, but you aren’t wrong..

Same, I have a bar a few lots from mine, and it only gets bad a few weekends a year.

I have neighbors that blast music while having super smoky fires and getting piss drunk, though. They are much much worse than the bar. Hands down. Because I can’t have windows open about half the time without my house smelling like smoke (a smell that gives me migraines).

12 for those hardworking tropical chads

(Did I use that right? It was uncomfortable.)

This. I had a winterized display (leaky roof inspired water damage) and replaced a board and fixed it. Took about 20 min including the time to disassemble the tv itself. $20.

The research to figure out what components caused the problem was significant, however. Because tv repair isn’t a thing anymore even tho it absolutely should be.

I like that you like sharing memes, because I’ve come across them enough to think you are a community unto yourself.

I like sorting by new to report garbage and interact with things that would otherwise die, also to help Lemmy grow! It’s lonely in new but… i get to report a lot of weird stuff.. so there’s that 🫠

Omg you are an actual person. Every time I see your username under a post I, for whatever reason, think it’s the community name.

I’ve seen a lot of your posts I think 😅 thanks for what you do! 🫡

(No it didn’t register that I replied to you until I went back to look.. I don’t really -see- usernames)

Thaaaats what it was. I was scratching my head to figure out from what source I knew of this concept.

[-] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 year ago

Well that’s alarming.

No more internet for the night or I won’t sleep.

Yuck, can you imagine having him as your therapist?

I’ve seen some bad therapists over the years, but nobody would hold a candle to this shitbag.

I would like to do this but I’m basically a waste of space, and not really capable of either thought provoking questions or funny/engaging content for the things I want to be part of. I can engage with others, but I’m not unique or creative enough for starting the conversation (same in person actually).

I know this because I tried several times many years ago to run my own Facebook pages for… well I tried various things and got very little engagement on any of it when Facebook pages were peak social media.

I know random facts about random science things that most people don’t understand (I probably don’t either, but I think I do!), but nothing that would actually grow any of the communities I’d like to see grow.

So while it is exactly that easy, it’s not necessarily that easy.

This is basically why I do it. I can’t afford streaming services, especially since you need multiple these days. I used to just use Netflix back when it was a good option. It was cheap and good enough to be worth it.

If I didn’t pirate it, I wouldn’t be able to consume it at all at this point, it’s that simple.

But despite my own self being in poverty, most of the people I know are not, so by talking to them about the media I watched free, and getting them to consume it as well, it increases the chances of the company profiting anyway. Just not off me.

These companies think they are losing out on money due to piracy, but they aren’t. They just assume we’d all pay for it if we didn’t have a choice. They don’t seem to realize sometimes it’s about not being able to pay, not just not wanting to pay. There’s no additional money to be had from a lot of us.
