You could probably do what the lap cat people do and just stuff a glove and shirt sleeve as a decoy. (They stuff a pair of pants, I’ve done that and it works well until they wise up so use sparingly!)

As long as it’s in the right place, it’ll probably work. For a bit. Might need a decoy mouse attached to it - have any old dead ones?

Unless what the cat wants is those slight movements and the “aww cmon” instant attention it gives :)

That edit is basically why I didn’t care for it.

I have a pair of usb Logitech controllers and they are alright, but the configuration was a pain, so like.. ehh.

It’s a lot better now, I just have a huge backlog of discs so not in a rush. Probably won’t be bothering with the next generation of consoles though. No point.

You could get like 50 people to pool resources to buy themselves a community… then pool resources to run it. It wouldn’t cost much for each person, really. 60k each.

As a bonus they could live in it now to maintain and further develop it, if they want to.

Yeah, kbin/etc is a lot better for interacting with mastodon from what I hear. Y’all are like properly integrated.

On Lemmy I very very rarely see any of it, and it interacts like any other post. It just doesn’t cross-chatter terribly well, I think.

I’m fine with that. I’m desperate for a holodeck.

Star Trek voyager meets Skyrim vr.

Hell yeah, I’d play the shit out of that.

I’ve watched all the series and had no idea.

Thanks for explaining!

I look at my keys when I type and I’m not ashamed of that. I always have, since Oregon trails on 5.25 floppy in the early 90s.

I could probably train myself out of it, and I can type whole sentences without looking, but only with the 6 fingers I normally use, rather than the full 8 most people use, and it’s a fucking chore. Frankly, it seems like a massive waste of mental resources to learn to type without looking, and I actively resisted learning it in typing classes in middle/highschool. I’m not doing data entry, so whatever I’m writing is a creative process, and that benefits from sight. I get eyes on what I’m doing while I’m doing it, and again when I check it over. It worked out very well for me when I started typing in Cyrillic, I just added transparent stickers. Homework was a breeze; I was looking anyway! :)

Yes I fucking want backlit keys. Even if just for when I’m laying in bed at a weird angle and can’t see the key layout, or sitting in a dark room. I would want them in a drunken stupor, too, even tho I use my phone for that browsing, which is backlit by default.

In summary, backlit keys are the shit. I spent a gob of money on a backlit, rechargeable, wireless keyboard, and I regret nothing.

I can’t watch this video at the moment (at work), but there’s a reason the entire Roku domain is blocked on my network.

Can’t call home to report on me if it can’t connect to home.

I believe some of the apps do have keyword filtering, but idk which ones.

Might be worth looking into if it’s something you want to avoid.

For what, if I may ask?

I have a floppy case that I keep my old PS 1+2 and GC memory cards in, but that’s about as much use as I’ve got for the whole thing at this point, so I’m super curious.
