One of the many many many things I've hated about Trump is that it doesn't even need to specifically align with his interests as long as it doesn't get in his way.

Republicans: "we're going to do XYZ."

Trump: "Will that affect me? If not who cares, have fun."

Democracy didn't fail us, corporate media fucked us.

A very large portion of what any of us know about a given politician or policy is from corporate media and they absofuckinglutley have a desired outcome even if it's as simple as using misleading ragebait just to get views. It leaves us less capable of making good decisions.

It's the American right wing way of convincing the population that 1: you'll never have peace with a mixed population and 2: we can never have the nice things other countries have because we're a mixed population.

They get to keep the status quo of "everything gets worse so businesses owners make more" and they get to use the racist dog whistles to keep those racist asshats on their side by "proving" race mixing makes things worse...

It works because people don't really think about what's being said. :(

In our society it's literally stupid NOT to do these things. If you got rich doing it you "won." Fuck the general population, fuck "good" things, fuck literally everything, C.R.E.A.M.

I hate it so much.

Just a quick search found something from 2018 so don't crucify me if it's not accurate anymore lol

Not so fun fact: the constitution allows for slavery as long as it's a punishment for a crime.

Hmmm... Nah, those dots don't connect at all.

It's absurd lol my job was complaining they can't find anyone to work, yet they're offering $16/hr for machinists that would need to drive an hour just to get here... It's a joke

Are you saying that Lemmy does have those algorithms? Because this shit is never boring lol so many instances I never wanted to see or know existed...

Slightly related: how many freaking instances of "yiff" shit do we need!? I couldn't believe I was STILL seeing it after I blocked like 7 separate instances lol

That shit makes me so angry it's crazy... Socialism for the corporations, "rugged individualism" for the citizens...

Republicans will scream and cry about socialism when we discuss healthcare, but gladly give corporations all the public money/wealth they could possibly want while also allowing them to charge us for the "product" they create...

I think he would have had to be convicted of that. Even though it's exactly what he did, he hasn't been convicted of anything really. The only shit that ever sticks with him are low stakes civil cases he can just throw money at...

But what about Bitwarden? What you say about the breach is exactly what I'm worried about when having ONE source that has EVERY password. At least now I have different passwords for different sites so only one can be affected, it's just a pain in the ass to have to go look them up. I save a portion of my passwords with cryptic messages that only I understand.

I can't think of anything that hasn't been hacked, I feel like it's just a matter of time before these password sites are too if they haven't already. :/

Or more infuriating is when I AM searching Google and the results bring me to some asshat saying "Just google it bruh."
