Cycling to work, the biggest savings for me were being able to drop my car insurance to "pleasure use less than x Km per week" status. The insurance dropped from $800 a year to $150 a year. Then fuel savings also. However there were additional costs like studded snow tires for winter and increased food consumption.

They do the same as the airlines, if they see you have interest they raise the ticket price

Edit: if you use a vpn and check airline price from another IP you will see different prices for same flight. And on Amazon my printer ink for obsolete model was $8, once I starred buying it started to hit $35-40.

In Canada the mail delivery has shifted to communal mailboxes in new communities as a cost savings measure. Problem is asshole theives who smash them open and steal everyones mail at once.

We have free wifi at our library, as well as a lot of other things like meeting spaces you can book.

More communal transport seems to be needed. After work from home, and occasional bus to work, the time I had to drive to the office to swap equipment and sit in rushhour traffic for an hour was painful. Like there is no way every single person needs unique travel to work

Artisan Bread in 5 minutes recipe. No machine no kneading. Best bread I have ever eaten. This one they updated to 1 tablespoon bread yeast, but old recipe was 1.5. i think 1.5 Tbsp of yeast tastes better. And use bread flour, rather than allpupose. https://artisanbreadinfive.com/2013/10/22/the-new-artisan-bread-in-five-minutes-a-day-is-launched-back-to-basics-updated/

Ontario is such a mess with Doug. Here in BC the HOV lane is busses, EVs or carpool. When I visited Ontario there were a ton of single occupant cars in the HOV lane?? My friens is like yeah you can go in that lane as caepool or pay a monthly fee to drive in it. Like WTF there is zero incentive to carpool if you just buy your way into that lane.

I have seen the other side. Friends dad got a terminal cancer diagnosis--too far along to be able to treat. He had done very well in life, so funds were not an issue. He chose MAID because he said "why would I want one more month of this pain and suffering to continue." We put animals down that are beyond help and suffering out of compassion...why would we not extend that courtesy to those who no longer want to go through it.
