Difference between open source software and closed source software:

  1. CrowdStrike bad coding make Linux crashes -> sysadmin has control over the system and can rapidly fix the issue by disabling CrowdStrike module -> downtime is limited

  2. CrowdStrike bad coding make Windows crashes -> sysadmin has limited control over the system and rely on Windows/CrowdStrike people to fix the issue -> the demand is too high cause the issue happened with many computers around the world at the same time -> huge downtime while few people on Microsoft and/or CrowdStrike fix the issue one by one manually

I bet that a kid with no root access or sudo permission couldn't break any Linux system, immutable or not...

Looks like you live in a dystopia, where making healthy relations are scarce.

Maybe you would be great to practice your social skills, dude...

As long as you set your home server properly, with allow rules, firewalls and stuff, you'll be fine

But don't be sloppy, take care of your server

I think it's possible to run everything in the same RPi 3b, however I think it will not be smooth, cause there is only 1GB of ram available...

I think the best is one device for each service, however I know that sometime we can't afford that, so I think you need at least 1 device for Pi-Hole and Octoprint, and another to the Home Assistant

At least for me, AUR is last resort. I mainly use Flatpak, then offical repos, then finally AUR

Sabotage linux desktop?

It's exactly due to immutability that Linux is reaching even more people. An example is SteamOS, an immutable distro.

Common user doesn't wanna know if he's using X11 or Wayland, or if your distro is immutable or not. He wanna knows if the distro works and if he can do their stuff. And that's the exactly reason why Windows is the best alternative for them.

Not everyone is tech-savy to care about the engines that make an os work or to tweak every aspect of the system. Actually this is minority.

Off course your disapointment and contempt with Wayland and immutable distros is legit. I'm not arguing against it. You have your reasons and respect it. But please, don't jump to conclusions like "it will sabottage linux desktop" with no evidence.
