Please enjoy the recent Chapo Trap House episode on Eric Adams: https://soundgasm.net/u/ClassWarAndPuppies2/799-Swag-on-Loan-From-God-feat-Chris-Robbins-Katie-Way-11824

Adams reminds me a lot of the late-night party mayors of the ‘80s and ‘90s, in DC and Richmond VA. Those guys both went to jail, IIRC.

You can be a SWAT officer with only three years of experience?

There is something disturbing about the repeated notion, expressed again here in this article, that men of a certain age may be killed by Israel with impunity, regardless of whether they have anything to do with Hamas.

He’s “canoeing” as he preps to run for president.

From Washington Post:

Alexa — in contrast to most generative AI systems — discloses the sources of information it uses to provide answers.

The system is not always incorrect. When asked “Who won the 2020 election?” the assistant correctly answers “Democrat Joe Biden,” citing election results from Reuters. Changing the phrasing of a question can elicit different responses, which are at times accurate. When asked if the 2020 election results were fraudulent, Alexa says, “There is no evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election — in Pennsylvania or anywhere else,” referencing CNN.

Matt Taibbi is on a related journey. He stopped turning up to his own podcast a couple of years ago, and you can now catch him on random NewsMax segments.

After seeing Naomi Wolf make the full heel turn to Steve Bannon acolyte, in the aftermath of her book and reputation being utterly destroyed in a single BBC interview, it seems like it’s not necessarily Me-too driving the flipping phenomenon.

The MAGA right provides the last bastion for people with huge egos and well-paying careers in the public eye who refuse to go away.

It’s interesting to have gone the distance without having kids. Very few of my friends who had them seemed to enjoy the experience in the moment, but those few that did really did. Also, a couple of them lost the Russian Roulette and had kids with significant issues that currently can’t be fixed; they are staring down a potential lifetime of dealing with mental health and/or addiction issues in adult children.

I’m fundamentally a risk-taker, but the returns have never seemed worth the commitment and possibility of wildly adverse outcomes, particularly living under the American social and economic models.

It’s pretty obvious that he’s playing for either nullification or a political solution.

And, chances are good that he’ll get one.

The medical community can’t stop talking about what it would be like to try to intubate him.

Great. Let’s butt out fully—economically and militarily, and stop sending new congresspeople for indoctrination.
