I don't want to know if this is true or not. Nobody look it up.

Wills aren't required and not everyone will have one.

I think the best course of action is to have a trust set up and have all of your assets under the trust. That's how my attorney set up my end of life tasks. It saves you problems with probate and taxes while also giving you flexibility if you want to change things.

That was the key to know it wasn't really the model. She was trying to sell me on buying a photo set. I asked her if they were exclusive to me, to which she replied yes.

Then I asked her to do a custom pose (nothing scandalous; wanted to see how exclusive this was) and she said she couldn't do that.

At that point I said to her thanks but no thanks

But I agree. If she would have done that I probably would have paid for it. But not for pictures that everyone else.

I sort of agree with you. It's entering "That One Joke" territory.

I think the reason this joke gets so much play is because it annoys the Republicans and it's been a long time since the Democrats have been able to rally around a joke that annoys them.

Sort of like zippers on couch cushions.

Or so I imagine.

I think it's more of "we pay Microsoft (or any company) for this. Make them handle it."

It's that kind of thinking that makes shit like the crowd strike problem possible.

When I was last looking for a fully remote job, a lot of companies gave you a "technology allowance" every few years where they give you money to buy a computer/laptop. You could buy whatever you wanted but you had that fixed allowance. The computer belonged to you and you connected to their virtual desktops for work.

Honestly, I see more companies going in this direction. My work laptop has an i7 and 16GB of RAM. All I do is use Chrome.

I swear whenever I see sed/awk commands, it looks like I'm about to summon the demon beast.

Fwiw, AWS offers a one-time egress without charge in response to the EU order to allow people to switch cloud providers.

Once approved, we will provide credits for the data being migrated. We don’t require you to close your account or change your relationship with AWS in any way. You’re welcome to come back at any time. We will, of course, apply additional scrutiny if the same AWS account applies multiple times for free DTO.

So if you're going to do this for that one time you have to, probably not a big deal.

But if I were you, I'd be prepared to egress, kill the account, and then create a new account.
