Sadly I lack an account for the Atlantic, but I am going to assume that they were bought out.

100%, the world is better at night. I am aware where I live there are more dangers, I have had to push myself to go as fast as I could in the past to get away from some people who were out at night, but the majority of the time I have found that the night-life is the best time to go out.

Hello everyone,

As the title said, I am looking at starting some okra from seeds, but wanted to know if I am too late in the season to start, or if I am good for where I am?

I will be growing the okra in large containers specifically, but I could do raised beds if that would be better.

Honestly, one thing to look at would be using ollas, or terracotta pots that irrigate the plants for you. It is an easy way to once to twice a week water your plants. I use it almost exclusively in my gardens because my work schedule is too hectic sometimes for daily watering, plus it is much more effective in deep-root watering.

You put it best. Many want the cottage/cabin in the woods for the vacation space to post pictures on their instagram or such. There is little allure to the true nature of the lifestyle, the simple cruelty of it. The aesthetic is not the lifestyle, and I wish people would understand that.

I find myself more surprised at this not being as well known as you put it. The information was presented in a rational manner and I will be looking it over again in the near future.

That is so amazing!!

I got my tomato seeds for my various types I am going to be growing, and then also am going to attempt growing okra! I also got my classic herbs, some peppers, some onions, and garlics too.

Starting indoors then will transfer as necessary.

The car's driver AI is becoming more human-like in running down cyclists, that is just concerning.

Hello to everyone,

So I am growing a set of plants this winter, soil in terracotta pots with some terracotta ollas for watering them. I have the plants sitting in the window, about 8-9 inches away from the pane itself to keep from getting too cold, and have the grow light over, so that way they are getting light in that cycle, the lights being on during the day time so that when the sun isn't as strong, the lights can help.

I was thinking about whether or not I should get a heating mat for them as well, or a heating lamp to help keep them from being too cold. What would be your recommendations?

The plants are as follow:

Lemon balm, Orange Hat Tomatoes, Bush Pinto Beans, and Tom Thumb Lettuce.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you for reading!

This is something I have thought a lot about, if you look at my username you could guess why, lol.

A restorative model is a fundamental component of a solarpunk society I would feel, where the work is done to attempt to assist people in helping themselves to work through their mental health disorders as a whole. It would be recognizing where the individual is, recognizing their level of ambivalence towards treatment and then working with them over time. Perhaps a secluded land that is self-sustaining, where they can get therapy and support as they find a space for themselves away from triggers? That is one thought I've seen people discuss before. I feel it would depend on the individual there though, as a solarpunk society I imagine would not do a 5150 or other forms of Involuntary Commitment.

The issue is stigma, as has been for so long. It is so easy for people to be given the label of a schizophrenic, a psychopath, a narcissist, so forth, without there being actual understanding that the person is still an individual who is struggling.

Thank you for actually mentioning the existence of warmlines. They are not commonly mentioned for people. There are also specific resources and call lines for an individual depending on their history, such as for those who require ASL or those who are trans.

As someone who played Runescape and designed a Necromancer Cook specifically because of that, I am prepared!

The Culinaromancer's tools of trade are the tools of the magic, a component pouch of ingredients that are specially crafted over years of hard work and diligence to the craft of magic.

Animate Dead using the skeleton of a freshly finished meal, imbuing into it the seasoned anger at how the nobles dared to salt it! Send that chicken after them for revenge! (While I am aware that animate dead specifically says humanoid, I had asked and my DM had permitted it, and also you are writing a story like you said so it works). Your master chef uses one of those old styled seasoning wands, a little cannister on a handle that you dust the special bone dust and seasoning that your magical craft is fueled by, forming the entity.

If you want to purely have it be D&D related, the Abyssal Chicken familiar would be perfect as the familiar of choice, tasting like a chicken but having the truly delectable presence of the Hellish realms behind it's beak. Truly a master chef's ultimate familiar signifying the willingness to dive to the harshest worlds for the best ingredients.

For some fun flavoring of spells, Toll the Dead as a cantrip, but it is the dinner bell being heard that echoes into the soul, reminding them that they are the meal tonight. The trusty cleaver brought out and cooked with the burning green fire to cook the meat as it carves it from the bone, a beautiful flavor! False Life is powered by alcohol, the seasoning that you spritz over the meal that empowers you with the strength to go further on. A dried pepper is brought out and added to the delectable meal as you breathe Dragon's Breath, applying a dragon's touch to the meal. Want to ask the dead how they want to be cooked? Sprinkle some of your graveyard dirt and basil blend before igniting it, letting the lovely aroma that only the dead can bring flavor the corpse as they can speak what they want to be cooked as for your people. Perhaps you want to make a creature be dead before preparing the feast, so that in the middle it returns to life before dying once more, letting the fear of sudden death add that delicious final seasoning, a truly delectable final meal! And of course, if worst comes to worst, feel free to grab your trusty chicken's heart you keep on hand for adding that bit of flavor of dinosaur blood, and bring a nightmarish fear of being cooked poorly to these wretched souls who dare get in the way of your meal.

I am admittedly very similar. I found the few short stories where it is based more off the modern era and how they are using the technology and ideals of community they have to counteract the way the world is. But that is also weirdly just the kind of person I am as a Solarpunk appreciator. I see it as the way that the current world is being changed, piece by piece, without having to be apocalyptic or fantasy.

Hello to everyone. I admittedly am posting this to discuss difficulties that this week has been with me getting myself moving with the new changes to my routine, and the stress it has brought about for me.

I work two full-time careers, one in the daytime from 10 am to 6 pm, the other in the nighttime from 11 pm to 7 am, the days offset to grant me 4 days where I work only one of the two offices and 3 days where I work both. I balance this with a biphasic sleep schedule, which while not the most ideal, has been one that works well for me. I also have other obligations in my life that I maintain, primarily for self-care and self-soothing to grant me reprieve from my stress in life, this is in the form of weekly D&D sessions with two groups of friends as a GM for both groups, a weekly meeting with my coven as a Pagan, a weekly support meeting for others in the local community, working out at the gym and biking, and also my garden which I tend to daily. I admit, my life is busy, and it is something I don't want, but it is due to circumstances out of my control the life I have going for me.

I have had to recently as well though incorporate another part, specifically for furthering my career and making more of a future for myself, and this has been finishing out my degree. I have been doing online university classes for a few semesters now and normally have been able to maintain a good flow with my other life activities; however, this week started the Fall Semester and I find that I have been heavily struggling to get that flow going. I admittedly had to start late because I ended up having to work a lot of overtime over the course of a weekend due to issues with my night-job and had been too exhausted to do anything but sleep for the first two days of the semester. As this Sunday ends though, I find that I have fallen behind in what I was planning to have done by this point with my schedule, and am struggling with the stress of trying to figure out how to force it all to go so I can get the flow going, which is not always the best.

It is admittedly what causes me to find myself feeling tired from the life I live. In the past I had it where once I got a good flow going it all would line up and move evenly, with me only having to go with it and have the feeling of less stress as it all lined up, knowing that on which days were which activities, giving me something to look forward to during the work day and work night.

Something that I like to focus on with the idea of a solarpunk kitchen is the practice of cooking outside during the summer times. To keep from needing to put more effort into cooling the house afterward, using a solar cooker outside, or an electric stove outside.
