Oh, I am on Fedora Silverblue with Gnome. If it is easy to switch, I think I will give KDE a try!

I like Gnome, and I definitely need to tweak some behavior I find annoying, but I feel I never gave KDE a proper chance because I seem to mess up the panel whenever I look at it wrong, and have no idea how to get back to default.

Yes. I think I am closer to data paranoia... I need a system.

That sounds nice. Not having a system that becomes terminally broken after a bad decision.

What is kind of funny is that my computer has the SSD for system and home, and I only ever used the storage to copy over files from my home. I also have a little 1TB SSD That I could have used as an offline backup... but didn't do that. I had the tools, just never thought to do it. I will look into a NAS, that would be nifty. Can't bork that with a new install.

Love Antix! It is like the grandfather to MX Linux, but also the little baby?

Damn. I am sorry for that loss. I agree, I am always boggled every time I use the Fedora installer. I don't know how I clicked the wrong disk. I didn't read close enough, or I don't know.

I hope the new things you make are better than what was wiped.

That is cool. Everytime I have created a new email account, it has been an island. Never learned to preserve emails... Well, except the one time I use Thunderbird. I should set that up again. Maybe it would solve my issue of multiple accounts??

In any case I like consolidation and I don't like logging into a website everytime if I can avoid it.

This is what I want! I want that granular control of having an email address compartmentalized for specific kinds of communication. I mean, I know it is something provided by basically all email providers, but I don't know, for sure there are limitations. A unique address for each website seems like such a smart thing to do, on top of being stingy with giving out my email address.

I think this is the solution I was thinking about in the first place. I was just musing about it being part of a home lab. I have to consider whether this solution is is better than just paying for secure email.

Sometimes people need more evidence to see the truth. Most of the time people do not have the emotional or educational scaffolding to even understand the evidence. If those people were capable of empathy they would not need to rely on an authority figure to tell them what to think.

That makes sense. Discord basically a hub for all things geek and popular culture. As much as I love gaming, I do not form my identity and life around it. I can't imagine the pain of even searching for a mature conversation on there.

I have never liked Discord. It is like IRC with more steps, more surveillance, an excess of security features that doesn't actually make anything secure.

I should give Element another chance. I think I had it before, but I was confused on how to find rooms.

You may not be a Linux user, but everyone is a Minix user!
