Providing 2-3 lines of explanatory context is hardly a research paper, but enough to illustrate reason behind a simple statement.

AFAIK, the author of this comic is somewhat of an asshat that exercises varying degree of censorship on a comic strip subreddit, based on their personal beliefs.

Sure it's similar size and kinematics, but if they're expecting similar UX and speed as the BL A1 from the Prusa mini they're in for a nasty disappointment.

IMO there are currently not really any direct replacement to BL printers, you'll have to sacrifice on speed, UX or both no matter which printer you get. I hope someone will pick up with the gap in the market since BL did their switcheroo.

Edit: maybe Qidi is pretty close to a direct replacement, but I haven't used those.

The pixel 8a is slightly narrower than the pixel 5 (~1mm) and shorter (~4mm), so that could be a replacement, the 7a has similar physical dimensions to the 8a if you want something used/cheaper.

Aha...the fact that it's a goose in the image threw me off

Probably at about the same rate as normal sneakers, so if you can live with that then these shouldn't be an issue in that regard

I've always followed Ellis' guide start to finish. It really makes a huge difference in print quality and especially consistency of printer performance.

As for filament, I've found brands I really like that have good and consistent quality and stick to those. Before when I was trying different brands, I found I had to tune filament settings every time I tried a different brand which got really annoying.

I usually just borrow e-books from the library, download as epub and strip the DRM from the file so I can read it, and return the eBook to the library right away for the next person to borrow it.

Man I just wish all unsolicited ads would be banned, it would make the world a much better place. If I want promotional content or information about product portfolio from somewhere, I will request it directly.

Enforcing that you need a business licence to buy a VPN is easy and requires very little. They suddenly can't sell you a subscription if you can't provide the business licence.

Yeah if I pay 3700€ for a printer, I expect it to work flawlessly out if the box. If I wanted something that just works pretty well, I'd stick with the 250€ printer I have now.
