I once had to go on a longer medical leave, couple of months. In preparation, I documented everything - pages upon pages answering all questions in easily searchable formats. For more than a month, any questions I got were answered with links to specific sections in the documentation, so people would know where to find everything. I put the links everywhere, in total there were at least 200 links to various sections of the documentation throughout all our communication mediums, as well as all information repositories.

After I came back from leave, most of the things I was responsible for were turned off. When I asked why, the response was "we didn't find your documentation".

I no longer care whether things keep working.

> be cat, hunt outside for fun

> humans tell me "bad cat, you're destroying the ecosystem"

> be cat, see the error of my ways, become pacifist

> even share my food with my mortal enemy

> humans tell me "bad cat, can't even catch a mouse that's eating your food"

> ???

Protest against genocide? Straight to genocide. Be against genocide? Believe it or not, straight to genocide.

Baby showers are for the mothers, not the babies. Since most adult women tend to have more surface area than babies, they also take longer to clean.

Great idea, the husband won't be able to straighten the carpet anymore!

I'm not commenting on the Linux stuff itself. But the idea that Epic sued Google because they "dislike Linux" doesn't make sense on two levels:

  1. Epic sued Google because they want to keep the extra 30% that Google gets from any IAP. It's a simple business decision, without any emotions attached.
  2. Google doesn't care about programmers, Linux, or open source. They might have a long time ago, but not anymore.

But he's also president of one of the richest companies in the industry because he always said this.

And while your point is valid for smaller studios, it feels like it's usually used by the big ones that do have the resources, but would rather give more money to investors.

Somebody approaching you, even though you're trying to move away and telling them to stop, is not a "mild annoyance". It's dangerous because weapons are so freely available. It would be better if they weren't, but while they are, you shouldn't do something like this.

They're gonna prioritise companies again and make it impossible for normal people to get it, right?

I don't see it as an advertisement. It's the same as e.g. the AMPutator bot - it provides a convenient way to circumvent Google's monopoly.

This is true, and it's absolutely fascinating, because it's literally the birth of a tiny language every time. The cat makes noise and notices that the human does something it wants, which makes the cat associate the noise with the action. The human hears the noise repeatedly and notices that the cat is happy about what they are doing, so they associate the noise with the action. It's a shared language between two individuals, which is just so precious!
