Two small points-

  1. he brought the classified docs case earlier and that case has been dismissed pending appeal, so I don’t think the timing matters there.
  2. due to the Supreme Court’s interference, we are probably still a year from a verdict. They were going to help him avoid accountability no matter when the charges were brought.

I agree this is of questionable veracity, but could you imagine if for example fb users had trouble following Trump? There would be a whole news cycle culminating in a congressional hearing. When people talk about the asymmetrical standards that conservatives are held to vs liberals in the media this is a prime example.

Yup. You need to project complete confidence until the moment you drop out, once you say “This is a hugely important decision, the hardest one I’ve ever had to make, so I’m taking my time” Boom you have lost control and it’s over.

However it appears the writing is on the wall at this point. The next question is, once he decides to no longer run should he resign? If he isn’t up for the job of running how does he instill confidence that he can remain president? Plus it hands the nomination to Kamala no question.

I use cash exclusively at liquor stores and fast food joints and have for years. Sounds like I should expand the list.
