Why is it helpful to think about gender or global news exactly? Isn't it better for mental well being to focus on your loved ones and what you can accomplish in a day. I don't appreciate attention whores sucking up my time usually.

It's a pretty normal country for working and tourism

Not sure if you're trying to be clever? You can start a war against anyone or anything.

This has been tried and I've tried one out back in android KitKat days. Glassless display and all. HTC phone. They're now bankrupt. The battery lasted a few seconds, and the display was not amazing, and even if done better today it's a gimmic at best

copied from a deleted reddit account, it's quite brilliant :

ELI5: Whole thing kind of works like a virus

So, the client doesn’t know where your file is. They call a primary server for a list of some people connected to the IPFS network, then ask around that list progressively spreading, like a virus transmitting between hosts

Once the “virus” finds the file, it brings it back to the client, stores a copy, and closes the connection. And since the client is now IN the network (knows where some other people are) then in order to retrieve further files they don’t need to use the primary server any more. Also, other clients can now fetch the file from the original client. So every copy makes finding those files faster — like auto scaling.

IPFS built an algorithm around that concept, to make file cleanup, lookup, minimization, and integrity checking possible. They also use a hash ID system to store data so like, if the hashes match, you could get a piece from file A or file B (whichever is closer) to complete the hash sequence needed to build file C.

It’s a pretty clever system, if you’re curious totally worth reading into the details.

Probably got a lot wrong, but that’s how I understand it.

Why is this not a thing?

when downloading torrents you have a bunch of seeders and maybe most won't be online, but some will be. I'm so so tired with services and monopolies. Do you think it would be possible to create an internet where instead of large servers we just have individuals hosting their email service, the communities they like to post in and sharing files. essentially it's just torrent with email and message board

I've been so upset with google for a long time. It might be seamless if you don't live in china or whatever, but for me it's been pain for years. A few years ago they stopped accepting my credit card. this year they stopped accepting my gf's card (she's chinese). I tried to verify my identity with passport images and utility bills for months. I have a lot of stuff spanning over a decade there. I tried to rage delete everything but Google made it so difficult that i got tired out a few times. I finally did it. Well, not quite. it's sointertwined with every service and account i have. it's such a pain. I am working full time emigrating to protonmail for now. Thing is i've been so scarred i don't trust protonmail either.
