As a queer person, I might not survive another trump presidency. The vitriol that he stirs in his base against marginalized communities got people killed in his first term and will get people killed in his second.

Out of curiosity, are you still a practicing Mormon?

Merc seems to be coming back into form. Very excited to see what they do next year. Can’t believe Lewis managed on those scrub mediums.

Ferrari actually did quite well, relatively speaking. Expected them to fall off way harder.

Danny was great, maybe brilliant. He put himself on the second row but we all knew the AT doesn’t have the race pace to keep that. I won’t be surprised to see him overtake Yuki in the points.

It’s hard being a Checo fan, and he may have lost me today. He keeps making these stupid pass attempts and I just don’t understand it. He compromised Charles’ race too. Just, unreal and disappointing af.

Haas was surprising, but faded away as is tradition. They just did it a bit slower save for Kmag’s crash.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men Couldn't put Humpty together again.

It’s an old nursery rhyme that was originally posed as a riddle, and the answer was that Humpty Dumpty was an egg.

If it has any meaning beyond that, it’s yours to make. I personally like it being a story of a king that spent all his time and efforts on building an army while ignoring everything else, just to have some other unforeseen thing topple his rule in a way that no army could repair.

Have we ever had a government shutdown during a general election?

With how clearly this lays at the feet of the gop, how bad will this make them suffer if the government isn’t open during the election? What happens to the election even?

Republican voters are fractured as fuck.

The ones that know either

  • don’t care and are glad this is happening
  • don’t care because it’s not THEIR rep doing it
  • care, but can only tsk it away because it’s not their rep doing it
  • use this as ammo that government doesn’t work

The rest don’t even know it’s happening. They’re election day warriors who vote red and then never think about politics again between election cycles.

Conservatives won’t even hear about this. Their media doesn’t report anything positive on him.

When I was an evangelical as a teenager I independently came to the conclusion that the best form or rule was a monarchy. This is what Christianity taught me to think, and it’s what evangelicals think, even if they won’t admit it. Their whole worldview is predicated on a strongman ruling and they can’t separate that from reality.

If you take your sentiment all the way, then marketing companies and internal marketing roles should be done away with.

At the end of the day, influencers are nothing more than outsourced freelance marketers.

I’m more of a commenter and less of a poster, but I moved away from world as my primary instance last week. Part to spread the load, part to just be able to browse.
