That was probably just a mistake from the racist image generator secretly adding the word black to the prompt

LOL right? Like it's all a monopoly anyways so that scroll through there was hilarious and depressing and pointless.

The answer seems to just get local and hope your land doesn't have freedom juice under it when it starts really running dry.

Yeah.... Maybe this is one of the ways I should start associating myself with Gen Z but they also have higher home ownership than boomers did at this age cause apparently the covid fire sale left them still with their parents money and cheap houses.

I dunno I really don't know how anyone does it but I have also been homeless 3 times since I started college so not really a great example.

I like the advice is basically

  1. Try to avoid them
  2. Try not to die
  3. Maybe try to take a photo for us while being attacked, we think they are neat

Seriously, it's like being back in college but the botany geeks are pulling out some good jokes.

Seriously. I don't really enjoy people that decide the world is so fucked that the only option is to end specific populations.

The entire population of the planet could fit in a space similar in size to Rhode Island and be fed by a chunk of land as large as New York but math can be used to make all kinds of statements that are only useful in theory.

We have who we have and logistics need to be figured out for including them not shoveling them off to the pasture. However we can still educate people that quickly raising the population further is a dangerous game but population growth is happening in nations that aren't taking the resources.

Society is made of the stories we tell ourselves.

Our stories have been pretty bad lately and selling fear and power fantasy still works as well as it always did.

I know it feels like bullshit and we all just say that people should just know and act better but they don't and they won't. They operate on what they think in their head is right.

I dunno. Maybe we need less stories maybe we need to tell better ones to inspire better. Maybe we do just need to BE better. I don't see it happening. We love the bad just way to much. Far more interesting.

I just want to counter with, I actually reached out to a progressive election group that's supposed to help left leaning people get elected into local office positions after being confused by some of the requirements of getting on the ballot and was straight up told I was not wealthy enough to even consider running.
That unless I had a wealthy parent or a church group that I could collect more funds from, I shouldn't even bother but just donate to them to get someone better and wealthier elected in my place.

When your barrier to entry isn't even just knowledge of the system, and having networking to assist you but literally the amount of money in your bank account, the concept of running against the people who will not only crush you and your campaign but likely hurt your non political career and livelihood of earned capital, then doing so becomes less of an option.

I then supported a person I agreed with for a Legal position who was literally a public defender and he lost to a guy who played football in college with no history in law or civil service.

It might be easy to run a campaign and I might have a slightly more skewed representation as I am closer to a larger city but when even the left side is looking at how mucho ey they can make on running campaigns and not how likely they are to help shift policy then we are royally fucked on the concept of representation by the people.

I'm between both those generations and between blowing my brains out and screaming at everyone on any given day.

My life has been a complicated hell since day one with stuff that would make people vomit, older generations seem to be sociopaths with no sense of empathy, others are full off self righteous narcissists to escape reality. There is no escape in others, or even a good world to just hide in. You can't talk about issues cause it upsets the pleasant views of the world people have and get suggested to just take as much as you can to make sure you "win".

So, now I have empathy for everyone suffering but, hate people more than any other thing in existence. But at least I get to look forward to..... Them dying and more suffering? Nope still don't feel better. At least when nature is causing misery it's just how things are but I'm tired of people doing it for petty reasons.

I only stick around because I have a couple people and things that can't care for themselves in a meaningful way to want to leave them on their own.

Fuck life. And fuck people.

I mean I was personally waiting for Trump to say the obvious and finish the punchline for the last couple weeks honestly.

From an employee I talked to it's because they have a specific contract with the payment processor and it requires using specific payment devices that are covered in the contract and they don't want off it for as long as possible because it gives them preferential fees.
So until the cost of business lost is enough to cover increased payment processing fees, don't expect to see tap to pay.
