Not officially, but Marko has repeatedly said that Lawson will sit in a Red Bull-owned F1 car next year.

Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Marko stated an announcement over its plans will follow the Singapore weekend: "We will announce the decision after the Singapore Grand Prix.

“There is never a guarantee in Formula 1."

There is a reason why Schumacher isn't getting a seat and it is that teams believe they have seen his ceiling of potential.

With Kimi they assume that he has a high potential even if he isn't there yet. Now, you could assume the same about Drugovich – in his case there must be something else why he is considered uninteresting

I think Merc learned their lesson about putting juniors into Williams when Williams blocked Russell from going to Merc in 2020

This seems super risky btw. Colapinto's first few races after Monza will be Baku and Singapore. Not exactly tracks where you want a rookie to start his F1 career. Lawson was super impressive there, but is that reproducible?

And Colapinto's junior career isn't really more impressive than Logan's..

(Also, different issue: argentinian fans coming newly into F1 could be ugly given what we have seen in recent years.)

Because we have a special kind of idiotic politicians and businessmen.

RIP Bearman if he gets a Haas seat

Ferrari really should try to get him a Sauber seat at least for 2025 when they're still a Ferrari customer

The Problem is that some of them, like the OP in the screenshotted post, are pretty bad at communicating stuff like this. No, wanting to have tea parties is not a sign of being trans.

I mean, it has been this way since the 1980s.. but nowadays it's often "Company 1 Company 2 Company 3" instead of "Sponsor Team". And stupid sponsorship names that are very long dont help either

A user posted the question What opened your eyes to what's happening in Palestine? on !asklemmy@lemmy.ml.

As is evidenced, multiple comments have been removed by mods. The Mod log shows the moderator removing multiple of these comments due to "rule 1", which on lemmy.ml is:

No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia. Code of Conduct.

The mods then also banned some of the commenting users for a few days.

This all lead to a post by one of the affected users to AskLemmy, accusing the mods of "removing all comments critical of Hamas". "No comments critical of Israel were removed", the user alleges. The post has since been removed by the lemmy.ml mods as well and the user banned for 14 days.

Using this post as an example:

https://lemm.ee/post/16379151

In the Web UI, it renders as a dropdown Element that needs to be clicked in order to show the images.

In Boost (and other apps I tried), it displays "spoiler spoiler" at the beginning of the post, but doesn't hide anything. Would be great to get properly rendered spoiler tags.

The images in this post I had to manually embed by using the code ![description](image link). It would be great if the formatting shortcuts in the editing window had a button for embedding a picture hosted externally that inserts this code.

Phillip Horton confirms on X the list of rookies who will run in Abu Dhabu FP1:

  • Jake Dennis (RB car 1) [currently FE champion + RBR sim]
  • Isack Hadjar (RB car 2) [F2]
  • Frederik Vesti (Merc) [F2]
  • Robert Shwartzman (Ferrari) [GT racing]
  • Jack Doohan (Alpine) [F2]
  • Pato O’Ward (McLaren) [IndyCar]
  • Felipe Drugovich (AM) [AM reserve]
  • Theo Pourchaire (AR) [F2]
  • Oliver Bearman (Haas) [F2]
  • Zak O’Sullivan (Williams) [F3]

I noted the driver's current role in brackets, of course Drugovich et. al. have had other roles/success earlier.

AlphaTauri will not run a rookie, they have already run rookies in both cars this year (de Vries & Lawson in car 1 throughout, Isack Hadjar in car 2 in Mexico).

F1 Rumour: Alex Albon In Medical Centre After Challenging Qatar Grand Prix

Williams driver Alex Albon is reportedly in the medical centre following the Qatar Grand Prix due to struggling to get out his FW45 after the race.  The track temperatures reached 37 degrees Celsius and caused issues for multiple drivers. Esteban Ocon threw up in his helmet on Lap 15, Logan Sargeant was forced to retire from being ill, and Oscar Piastri had to lie down in the cool-down room.

Footage of Albon trying to get out of the car at the end of the race has been circulating social media. The British-Thai driver required help from the Williams team to get out of the cockpit and then had to sit on the car when he seems to have extremely low energy.

It has also been reported on social media that Albon has been sent to the medical centre to be checked over after the session.  (...)
