I feel like the best wood workers are the ones that know how to do creative problem solving well.

Like, they make just as much mistakes as anyone else, they just know how to solve them better and quicker. I really love video's where the wood worker makes a mistake, admits to it and shows how it is solved. Keith Johnson woodworking is one that comes to mind.

So forget about your silly mistake. Laugh, and think of how you are going to fix it. It is a shop jig, so simply joining it back together in a strong way seems fine to me.

And thanks for the laugh, this would be something I would do too...

There is always something going on. The world is always falling apart. The locations just vary.

In other words, this too shall pass. Do what you can to make the world a better place, survive, and let go of what you cannot control. Can't carry the world on you shoulders all the time. Sometimes it has to save isself or deal with the consequences.

The answer is probably you.

Yes you should switch jobs. But make sure you have a good answer when they ask you why. You don't want to talk bad about your current employer to your possible new employer.

So find a positive way to describe why you are changing jobs. What are you looking for, what skills and area's do you want to grow in? This is important. Don't get hung up on your current job, find something new that you like doing and focus on your personal growth and career.

What is your experience you gained at your current job? Anything special that you archieven? You need to have an answer to that for your future employer. You don't need to lie, but you need to prepare for some questions.

The number of ads per hour of video is higher. And people get addicted to the dopamine fix. Short videos generally will have to be incredibly stimulating to keep people watching.

Your dopamine goes through the rood for 15 seconds or 30 seconds, after that it drops down again and you need the next video to get it higher again and again. In between the videos you get ads, so in the end they lure you into watching a whole bunch of ads.

They optimize their algoritms so they know what keeps you watching. Could be cute puppies, could also be fake news about how everything is somebody elses fault, but they just want to keep you watching. They don't care about the truth, they need your eyes on the ads.

And that is how generations will be ruined.

The funny thing is, that whole thing just proved that the spying didn't work. Trump was still almost killed. So the spying and mass surveillance did still not prevent that.

I guess they should stop violating everybody's privacy, but obviously they don't care.

Shoot for getting about 70% right. That is about where the rest of the world ends up too. And the world is still turning. No need to drive yourself nuts doing the impossible.

I symphatize with that, but it would seem they are definitely not going to last until they are successful. I respect that you work towards renewable energy, but they won't lose one night of sleep if they have to fire you down the road.

Take care of yourself, good luck.

Edit: I just remembered from another thread. Somebody shared a gem about hoping: Hope in one hand, shit in the other and see which one gets filled first.

Not to say hope is bad, but I also believe in being realistic about things.

I have been stressed out about everything in the past, but I worked through a lot of things.

The main thing for me is acceptence. I accept whatever comes at me, and I deal with it.

Missed the bus? I accept that that is the new situation, and then start thinking about how to deal with the consequences. Do I need to inform somebody that I will be later, or do I need to do anything else? Is there a different route I can take?

And what is also important, I watch myself. I make sure I get enough sleep and I have some time for myself to chill. It helps if you are not tired or burned out. I have been tired and burned out and it makes me far more emotional and unpredictable.

I accept that I am not in control of a lot of things. But I can always control my response to those things. If somebody is trying to piss me off, I can stay calm and that puts me in control of the situation.

I also realized that bad moods are contagious. If somebody was in a bad mood around me I would pick it up too. But now I figured, why? I don't want somebody elses state of mind to control mine. So I accept that they are in a bad mood, and choose to keep my mood going.

I choose to control myself in all circumstances, no matter how crazy, and it makes me happier and less stressed. I'm still not perfect but I feel a lot better a lot of the time.

And it's a great practice for emergency situations too. I've been able to solve some things rather quickly just by not panicking and making the right calls to give some things priority over others.

Classic meditation method: don't block any thoughts, just accept any thought that pops up, and visualise it floating away. Usually does the trick for me.

Or visualize a water flow like a river streaming through your mind, taking all the thoughts with it.

There are lots of visualisations you can do to help clear your mind or control your emotions.

Things like that probably require some scripting. You can check if there are ready to go scripts that you can just copy, but most likely you'll have to program something up yourself. Even if there are scripts to copy, without understanding what they actually do and how they will work with WordPress you will have a hard time using them.

If you are not proficient in HTML yet, you are probably not ready for this. You'll need to learn some scripting, insert those scripts on the pages and for that you need a deeper understanding of how everything works.

Unfortunately this means there is no easy solution here, you'll have to put in the work to search and learn how to do this or you decide you don't need it after all.
