How does the directory discover communities? As, for instance, this community (!fediverse@lemmy.world) does not exist in the directory.

It should be good now. The discord server is only for people who help moderate the instance itself, and not community mods. I help with the moderation part. If you have questions then you can ask in the !support@lemmy.world or !moderators@lemmy.world communities. Sorry :)

Heyo! Small update from someone who is watching the upgrade live; it's ongoing still. Seems like they are still facing some performance issues. So grab your popcorn and wait! 🍿 (Btw, i am not a sysadmin, just a moderator)

I think that is a problem with the current back-end version of Lemmy (0.17.4). I belivie that this is fixed in 0.18.0, but Lemmy.world has not been able to upgrade to it, as it is, presumably, badly optimized for larger Lemmy instances such as Lemmy.world.

As @ConTheLibrarian@lemmy.world says, 0.18.x wil fix this issue, but it is not optimized enough for larger instances such as lemmy.world. You can also sort by the top of the day, week, month, year, and all posts.

Adding this to the sidebar :)

I don't think they have become the most popular thing on Lemmy. But there exist communities for crypto currency. Just use the search function and search on all federated instances :)

Edit: https://browse.feddit.de/, an easier way to browse communities.

I only use reddit when looking at the current blackout and api situation. I am also sharing the word of lemmy and the fediverse to users who don't know what it is. But i no longer browse trough reddit, only on lemmy. Nore specificslly the jerboa app on Android.

Yeah, it just got slower and slower by the years. At some point i couldnt even load up my emails, and that was when I had to switch phones. BUT it did actually last 3 years!

Samsung galaxy S21. I really enjoy it and has worked perfectly. I like Samsung rendition of Android, I feel like it gives me a larger overview of settings and so forth. I've had an iphone 6 and Huawei Mate 20 lite. My problem with the iphone was that i didn't really understand it, and the app library was limited. The Huawei became slow fast, but that might just be because of it being the lite edition. In edition to the Samsung S21 i also own a Samsung galaxy watch 5 and a pair Samsung buds 2. Both these works great, and i really enjoy Samsungs health app wich is how the watch connects to the phone. The buds are even compatible with my windows computer :)
