Ubuntu is a corporate/popular distro. It wouldn't make much sense to move to do as when it lacks much of the functionality of sudo and isnt in a memory safe language, which is Ubuntu's goal with replacing user space software with Rust.
Idk if it is related but I found that my LCD monitor dims through the GNOME setting, but just not my OLED.
It might have been your DNS that was identified? It depends on whether you enabled proxy DNS for SOCKS5.
For best fingerprinting protection, use either:
- Mullvad Browser with a VPN (prefer Mullvad VPN)
- Tor Browser
Avoid using Tor with a normal browser because you will stick out like a sore thumb.
Which would that be *pulls out the deathray which terminates fun places on the internet*?
Or are you? Try it, just a lil 😼
Aurora is a downstream Kinoite distro by the Universal Blue project. It is tweaked to be a bit more user friendly and has a lot of tweaks and changes. I recommend anyone try it out.
For nvidia hardware, use nvidia images of Aurora/Bluefin (or Bazzite if you want gaming out of the box). All the OSes I mentioned are based on Fedora Atomic and offer image options for nvidia proprietary drivers. They even signing the kernel drivers, so you can use Secure Boot.
I would agree but it still heavily relies/requires X11 for many of the core components and apps. Wayland support on the horizon. For now though I wouldn't recommend anyone use any DE that doesnt support Wayland, since X.Org is has been unmaintained for many years, it is a bloated protocol, and is insecure by design. This is because it was designed 40+ years ago in a time before security was a big concern to developers.
Until a port to Wayland is made, I would avoid using this DE. X.Org is unmaintained legacy software. Maybe Sway would work as a replacement?
Zorin is too walled off IMO. Too many features locked in Pro version.
