The new empty comment section looks great, btw!

Every time I open YT on my tablet I am extremely confused what the shit titles and thumbnails are. DeArrow is one heck of an essential extension.

I reinstalled from scratch. Went from Xubuntu to minimal Ubuntu with KDE de. And then tried wayland again. One the one hand, gaming performance went up by a lot which was basically my main issue.

On the other side it is buggy af. The file manager fails mostly at moving files. There are random graphical glitches. Had the whole DE crash/lock up a couple times And the tabbing/tasbar handling is (still) not what I want. I also have still not found out why zfs automount does not trigger.

But at least I have something useable again!

I sometimes needed something like powerquery from microsoft excel. To like quickly get specific data from a structured file.

We have such a test too, but not as extremely dumb. But it's still in the realm of: how do you wear your high-vis-vest? A: well visible from all sides B: hidden under your jacket to not get it dirty.

Unrelated question: when opening an image fullscreen, controls are visible by default. Is it somehow changable to have them hidden at first?

edit: private messages are weird I think? The only one I made looks like I sent it to myself.

80/20 for 30€

But your post animated me to check, so there is one for 100/40 for 20€ now i switched to. Thank you!

Thank you! I was very confused with the new look of the app in the morning! But I have not figured out yet, if the inconsistent inversion of the voting buttons is a wrong setting or a bug. The buttons are one way for the post itself but the other way around for comments. In other words, the order of the up-/downvote buttons are switched. And yes, I am the idiot with the tablet, using lefthand mode but not tablet view, again.

Edit: thank you for my save button!

For my small hobby project compiling was absurdly slow. Switching to mold really cut down on waiting time.

I have had the bugs with steam not launching games too. However, I can't remember if I need to kill steam in that case. But I definitely had that happen too. But that is a very rare case that any of that happens. Also, it was not because of a specific game, because after the steam restart it would work. Not sure what the problem is in your case, sorry.

It is interesting, that you have problems with astroneer. Last I played was years ago and worked fine (ignoring degraded performance), even hot-join multiplayer (joining dedicated would NOT work). Talos principle 2 was a bit finicky to get running for the first time, but then it's flawless. Please mind that I only use the glorious eggroll proton because it is most up-to-date. From my experience, the chance is veeeery much higher that stuff just works and do not bother with the included proton version steam provides. For every new game I want to play I just select the newest proton-ge I have installed and that is generally sufficient. If not, I quickly defer to protondb because the chance is high, that one poor soul already tried all combinations of proton version and weird config flags. I should have reviews for both games on protondb too.

I hope you can figure something out. Not sure with your steam client but maybe an ignorable issue if you get the games to work?

Well, thank you! But I have more bad news. The communication with lemmy instances is handled by code from someone else. And development for that stopped months ago. So one would have to patch the other library somehow too. And that only fixes the login (which should be rather simple in essence). The changes to 2FA are a bit more complicated. Though, that should only break the setup process, not the login with it.

Sadly, fixing that would require someone that has at least a fair bit more experience developing with that language and tools, and more dedication.

Welllll shhhht. I don’t want to switch apps :(

Thank you for the heads-up! Welp, I guess I have to get into android development again after all. Not sure where I should pull the time from.
