These days, all that dude now needs is a phone and probably a tablet. Maybe a laptop slung over his shoulder.

Mine is - Algorithm. Ever since people have learned some of the inner workings of how content is suggested to them, that became the new spammed word that easily got exhausted within the week of it being used.

Yeah, an algorithm does indeed pitch you things of what to watch or listen to. But there's more going on than that, but people all the time just stop at that word and expect everyone to suddenly understand it. Sadly, most people just buy it at face value.

In a perfect world, every dollar we spend goes right to the creators who made the creation.

I would support musicians more if I knew my money was going straight to them. But a lot of the time, they aren't, so I pirate out of spite against the labels for robbing the musicians through contract, how much they get.

I would support movies more if I knew my money was going straight to them. But a lot of the time, they aren't, so I buy movies second-hand from thrift stores and not the studios themselves.

I would support games much more if I knew my money was going straight to them. But a lot of the time, they mostly aren't. So I buy games dirt cheap and occasionally pirate.

And the video games industry can give a single fuck less about preserving them. Only bringing them back for a limited time under reselling compilations or as we've seen, those small consoles a few years back where only a hand picked library of games were pre-installed on them. They're only brought out to simply make a quick buck, nothing more.

Dumb TVs. I love the option to turn it into a pseudo-smart TV with just a streaming stick. But, I'm always okay with a TV that just has the ports for basic things.

Obviously borrowed from Cyanide and Happiness. But I can't help but picture a Reddit user's expression the moment someone tries having an actual discussion on that platform.

Out of those four, Cox is the one seemingly being the one who's combative. The other three will fold easily and are complicit with any demand the studios have done.

So it is very hard to imagine, really.

Uh so one side rabbled louder than the other side who also rabbled.

Haven't watched it, can't care to.

Oh my god, yes.

I've even talked with people who're like;

This..is an example sentence...just to tell you..something.

Usually you see that with older people not used to texting or someone who's first language is not english. But you see so many of that, it makes you wonder. I think they're trying to make it look like they're processing their thoughts as they're typing?

I don't expect people to be Charles Dickens here, but jesus, I'd rather someone take their time getting a thought out than for me to see a poorly written draft of it.

Seeing all that you grew up with, pass away. With the recent passing of James Earl Jones, I've said that the world is losing more color with the likes of him that passed.

Over the years, I've found that the things I've grown up with to know about with what they've done, what they've influenced and the chain of events that were caused because of them in a positive light, just vanish.

And I like others, have the unfortunate reality to hear and see them go away. Akira Toriyama, Kentaro Miura, Satoru Iwata, Leiji Matsumoto .etc

Those are few of the names I've listed as examples where moving on in life without them in the world is just a bit hard to get accustomed to. I mean, I guess the silver lining is that we'll be joining them someday soon since that's the cycle of life for you. But for now it just currently sucks.

Same. Wished it had just stayed as an idea. Wished it had stayed as just a concept to be used in movies, games, shows and books. Wished it had just stayed in it's boundaries.

I have a habit of beginning nearly any other thing with 'So'.

It works on stupid people not in the know.

But it doesn't when you remind people about what Hollywood has done to it's workers when AI was introduced. Then remind them of the Writer's Strike. Then route them back to what the anti-piracy outfits want. Then have a good laugh because it is a good joke.

When God of War was popular, they wanted a God of War of their own.

When Call of Duty was popular, they wanted a Call of Duty of their own.

When Overwatch was popular, they wanted a Overwatch of their own.

When Fortnite was popular, everyone wants their own Fortnite.

Rinse and repeat.

And Spez's response?

"OMG! STOP GOING DARK OR I AND MY LEGION OF SLIME ADMINS WILL REMOVE YOU FROM POWAH!"

And so he did which is why some subreddits came back from being dark. Some subreddits submitted to their own fates. Other subreddits reluctantly came back, proving the protest was just a mere farce that amounted to a nothingburger.

And what did Spez do after the whole fiasco? Why, he punched Reddit into now being Public. Completing what people had long speculated that he'd do.

And what did Spez do after that? He's now rolling out the concept that Subreddits will be monetized.

Spez has ultimately learned nothing from these incidents and expects it to get better, with that stupid shit eating grin on his face because he huffs and breathes in all of Musk's farts.

Beginning to have thoughts now on just donating away my stream sticks and use my TV in the living room as a back up incase the one I have in my bedroom dies.

I got into streaming sticks about a few months ago, I have an ONN brand one and Amazon one that's 4k. And I know the appeal of them and the appeal is nice. It makes you feel like you're watching cable television without subscribing to an overpriced cable subscription. It was nice.

It was nice until everytime I go to have some sit down time in the living room than my bedroom to watch something there, I turn on the ONN stick, I try watching a single YouTube video.

30 second ad. Skipped it. 4 minutes into the video - another ad. And this will happen the longer the video is where it's just ad, ad, ad.

Between the two, only the ONN stick has a chance of being rooted but I'm not sure I want to risk bricking or ruining it. The Amazon one cannot be rooted which is a shame.

So yeah, not really digging stream sticks as much as I like because of this. I immediately went back to my bedroom to watch on the PC since I have adblock.
