Which one are you voting for?

I'd like to find a viable 3rd party candidate that can win the presidential election and disrupt the 2 party system we currently have.

I haven't seen anyone mention it in this thread, but speculation is this is a feud between two Oklahoma State fraternities. They have been placing dead animals on each other's property for months and this has nothing to do with the championship game. The longhorn apparently died on one of the students farms and they relocated it.

I can't confirm any of this, just what I read elsewhere.

These are my thoughts every day right now, and I don't know how to get out of that depression loop.

I'm about a year and a half in remission from cancer. I started a new career to better my work-life balance and take care of my health. I thought surviving would give me a rejuvinated outlook on life, and I would "enjoy the little things" more.

No. When does that start?

Instead, I wake up every day thinking, what is the point? Who am I living for if I don't have the time, money, or resources to do anything that brings joy to my life.

Props. Those were the days when we could vote for people and not parties.

Or just not vote.

Some people in my office have their work email synced to their phones. They also take home their laptops most weekends to "catch up", "don't fall behind", or "just in case any emergencies".

They are not in leadership positions and we operate Monday thru Friday. Why???

My wife and I have an Australian shepard named Olive. We've already committed to getting a mini and naming it caper

You're 100% right. My wife has a masters degree in education and spent 7 years as an English teacher with 3 very different types of schools in different districts. She left to be an instructional designer (with zero experience in that field) and nearly doubled her salary overnight.

If America wants to take education seriously they need to stop screwing over teachers.

Rant:

I had a pretty intense acid trip once and came to the conclusion that nothing matters, there is no meaning to life, there is only an illusion of free will, and most likely our existence and personal experiences in life will be completely forgotten within 3 generations (almost like we never existed to begin with). I was super duper depressed after that for several months.

It eventually gave me a different outlook on life though. If it's only temporary and there is no meaning, I can create my own meaning and enjoyment in life. Live in the moment, do what you want, and create as much meaning and enjoyment for yourself as you can while you have the opportunity. Don't worry about what others might think because eventually their existence is going to be forgotten as well.

The act of dying might suck, but being dead and not existing seems very serene. Sometimes things just sort of end.

I just left the restaurant industry after 10 years (mostly as a cook). This is too accurate, unfortunately 😐

I've voted straight Democrat for 10 years and I hate it. I don't believe the US is as polarized as its portrayed. But our options are either "Fascist" or "At least we're not those guys". I HOPE ranked choice voting becomes a thing in our lifetime.
