You'd think that fediverse users would understand that the most..
I really don't get it all job boards / websites are the exact same can of shit and don't offer any unique opportunities or anything
Also, for me, it's the fact I do not feel my data and privacy are being siphoned, sold, and fingerprinted on this platform. Another factor is that I feel the people and interactions are pure and authentic, rather than astroturfed and ambiguous. That may change as the fedicerse grows, but for now it is bringing me back of the older days of the internet.
Exactly, the reality is when I open Twitter I see content that is at least relevant to my interests, where as the sorting on Mastodon are of things that are of absolutely no interest. There's a lot that you can say about algorithms, but there's a reason it was the way it was in the first place.
Here is where I disagree with a lot of you guys' points. Even if the comment is lower effort, I still would read them and prefer it to be there than not. Even if it's less substantiated. I primarily acted as a lurker on Reddit for various reason and still enjoyed reading people's opinions and perspectives even if it wasn't "high quality". Even if it's just to get a picture of what people feel about something it still has value. I post comments, and posts that get upvotes and views, and that proves that it still has value.
I do not know their intentions or the implication, however I feel justified in feeling threatened by this.
Because it's actually a well structured site, that's also designed responsively just with many retro design and visual choices. It's also blazing fast. I quite like it.
I don't eat cereal anymore, or when I do it's the non-sugary healthy kind. But among all of them it's really difficult, but I think I like Captn Crunch with berries. But it really depends on what I would be craving for I!
There comes a breaking point where people and organizations who are dependent on Facebook ads will actually move from the jaws of this giant corporations for more freedom and control. We are certainly seeing it now by example. I'm someone who just left Reddit and actually am here to invest in this platform and you can't say well I'm the exception.
Rest in peace truly a legendary app.
Honestly, yes you guys should move to Firefox. I pretty much stayed on Chrome until chromium Edge was a thing. I tried that and ended up using that until they bloated it to hell and back, so I am back to using Firefox. Honestly just use anything but Chrome.
